  • Patent number: 6511408
Abstract: A paper folding mechanism for folding continuous paper is provided. The folding mechanism includes a swing guide caused to pivot for guiding the paper, and first and second paper guides which are spaced from each other. The first paper guide is displaceable relative to the second paper guide. The folding mechanism also includes a paper presser arranged adjacent to the first paper guide for folding the paper along fold lines. The paper presser is designed to move relative to the first paper guide.

  • Patent number: 6458407
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel process for producing an essential oil from a plant material. Concretely, the process produces an essential oil in a short time and by a simple procedure by treating a plant material with supercritical water or subcritical water to liberate essential oil components, which are contained in the plant material, as an ester-free essential oil, and separating and purifying this essential oil.

  • Patent number: 6331320
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for producing aromatic compounds or polymers thereof from a plant material in a short period of time and by a simple procedure. Concretely, the process treats the plant material with supercritical water or subcritical water to liberate aromatic compounds, which are contained in the plant material, and/or aromatic compounds, which have been generated upon decomposition of components of the plant material, to the outside of the plant material, and isolates the liberated aromatic compounds to produce aromatic compounds or polymers thereof.

  • Patent number: 6322067
Abstract: A sheet cassette for an image forming apparatus supports a pivotally mounted sheet loading plate while giving a degree of freedom to the cassette tray by allowing a free end of the sheet loading tray to vertically move. Sheet guides for regulating the lateral position of sheets on the sheet loading tray are supported by the cassette tray and are aligned with apertures provided in the sheet loading plate, so that some play exists between the sheet guides and the cassette tray.

  • Patent number: 5967506
Abstract: A printer constituted to drive a pair of feed rollers FR3 and a pair of resist rollers RR so that the leading end of paper P may one stop at a position of a paper sensor S1 at the upstream side when reaching the resist rollers RR and then the entire paper P may be conveyed at a second conveying speed, when conveying a sheet of paper P at a relatively fast first conveying speed by the feed rollers FR3, and conveying at a second conveying speed lower than the first conveying speed by aligning the leading end by the resist rollers RR. It solves the problems of error in printing starting position due to slipping-out of the leading end of the paper from the resist rollers, failure in control to a desired deflection amount when deflecting the paper by colliding with the resist rollers, impact noise when the paper collides with the resist rollers, especially impact noise in thick paper, and possibility of oblique running after passing through the resist rollers.

  • Patent number: 5305996
Abstract: An inexpensive large-capacity paper hopper capable of energizing a paper feed table with a constant lift force irrespective of the quantity of paper sheets remaining thereon, thereby performing stable paper feeding. To achieve such a paper hopper, a paper hopper, wherein a paper feed table is lifted or lowered being kept in a horizontal condition and paper sheets stacked on the paper feed table are sequentially sent out from the top sheet for feeding, is arranged such that the paper feed table is so suspended by a wire suspending device as to be lifted or lowered in a horizontal condition, and an elastic tensile force of extension coil springs included in a lift force exerting device is so exerted to the paper feed table that the direction in which the restoring displacement of the extension coil springs takes place becomes coincident with the direction of lifting the paper feed table.
