    Abstract: Technologies are generally described herein to detect non-volatile write request sequences. A write request is received to write to a solid-state device that includes the non-volatile memory. A determination is made as to whether the write request is part of a non-volatile write request sequence or is not part of the non-volatile write request sequence. In response to determining that the write request is part of the non-volatile write request sequence, the write request is associated with the non-volatile write request sequence. In response to determining that the write request is not part of the non-volatile write request sequence, the data associated with the write request is written to a cache that is coupled to the non-volatile memory. The data associated with the non-volatile write request sequences may be written directly to the non-volatile memory.

    Abstract: A downhole tool apparatus is disclosed that includes an input fiber optic cable coupled to an electro-optic modulator. The input fiber optic cable propagates first and second actively orthogonally polarized light beams. The electro-optic modulator modulates the first and second actively orthogonally polarized light beams in response to a measurement data stream (e.g., telemetry data). A single light beam comprising the modulated first and second actively orthogonally polarized light beams is propagated over an output fiber optic cable so that the modulated first and the second actively orthogonally polarized light beams propagate the same data through the output fiber optic cable. Recovery circuitry coupled to the single light beam is then used to detect, demodulate, and decode the original measurement data stream.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for determining existence of a foreign material on a surface of a fingerprint sensor of a terminal are provided. The method includes the following. A current capacitance value of the fingerprint sensor of the terminal is obtained. A first difference between the current capacitance value and a preset capacitance reference value is calculated. Determine that the foreign material is present on the surface of the fingerprint sensor when the first difference is within a preset foreign-material threshold range. The preset capacitance reference value is a capacitance value tested with no foreign material on the surface of the fingerprint sensor before leaving the factory and is stored in a system in advance. The preset foreign-material threshold range is set in advance according to experimental data of capacitance-change tests performed on the fingerprint sensor when different conductive foreign materials are on the surface of the fingerprint sensor.
