  • Publication number: 20120219419
Abstract: A round axial fan with balancing structure includes a hub, a ring-shaped band located around an outer side of the hub, and a plurality of blades extended between the hub and the ring-shaped band. At least one removable area is defined on the ring-shaped band for serving as a balancing area. By determining and removing one or more balancing areas at appropriate locations from the ring-shaped band, uneven weight distribution of the components of the round axial fan can be adjusted to enable stable rotation of the fan without producing vibration. The provision of the balancing area on the ring-shaped band of the round axial fan also enables reduced material and labor costs for adjusting the weight distribution of the fan.

  • Patent number: 8245050
Abstract: A split knowledge protocol adapted to establish an initial key for use in authenticating a first computer to a second computer. The second computer initiates the split knowledge protocol by generating a bit sequence and splitting the sequence into a predetermined number of segments. The second computer then encrypts each segment with a predetermined key associated with each segment before transmitting each encrypted segment to the first computer. In response, the first computer decrypts each encrypted segment using the associated key. The first computer then recovers the bit sequence from the decrypted segments. Accordingly, the first and second computers have knowledge of (i.e., access to) the same bit sequence, which may thus be used as the initial key.

  • Publication number: 20120181562
Abstract: A package includes at least a chip encapsulated by an encapsulant. Conductive bumps are disposed on a first surface of the chip, for a circuit board to be disposed thereon. A phosphor layer is formed on a second surface of the chip opposing the first surface. The package further comprises a light-pervious mask that covers the phosphor layer. Since the phosphor layer and the light-pervious mask are directly formed on the chip, the chip is prevented from being disposed in the groove of the substrate. As a result, the wet etching process is omitted, and the fabrication cost is reduced. A method of fabricating the package is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20120170882
Abstract: A fan bearing retaining structure includes a fan base, a bearing and at least one resilient member. The fan base has a bearing bushing perpendicularly extending from one face of the fan base. The bearing bushing is formed with a bushing bore in which the bearing is disposed. An annular groove is formed on an inner circumference of the bearing bushing. The resilient member is fitted around the outer circumference of the bearing and correspondingly received in the annular groove. The resilient member serves to eliminate the gap between the bearing and the bearing bushing so as to avoid vibration of the bearing. In this case, the fan can operate more stably and the lifetime of the fan can be prolonged. Moreover, the noise can be minified.

  • Publication number: 20120154580
Abstract: A moving object detection method and an image processing system thereof are provided. First, a pixel-wise distance of a received image to a reference image is computed to obtain a distance map. A histogram analysis is performed on the distance map to obtain a distance distribution. An entropy value of the distance distribution is computed and a peak distance value which is with a maximum occurrence probability in the distance distribution is searched out. Then, by using a mapping rule, the entropy value and the peak distance value are transformed into a decision threshold value. The decision threshold value is applied in classifying the pixels of the distance map into a group of foreground attributes and a group of background attributes and thereby moving objects in the current image are obtained.
