Abstract: A base unit for use in forming a molecular model has a polyhedral body having a first set of faces defining a plurality of first attachment surfaces, and a second set of faces defining a plurality of second attachment surfaces. A first set of the plurality of second attachment surfaces has a North magnetic polarity, and a second set of the plurality of second attachment surfaces has a South magnetic polarity. The base unit is magnetically coupleable to another base unit in a first configuration in which rotation of the base unit relative to the another unit is inhibited, and in a second configuration in which rotation of the base unit relative to the another unit is not inhibited.

Abstract: A nutrient composition includes at least two oligopeptides of amino acids having in the N-terminal position of at least one oligopeptide a residue of glycine and having in the N-terminal position of at least one oligopeptide a residue of L-alanine, L-lysine or L-arginine. The aqueous compositions may also contain free amino acids and may contain other nutrient substances such as fats, oligosaccharides, minerals, trace elements, vitamins and free amino acids. The compositions are intended for oral or parenteral use with mammals. Compositions having dipeptide concentrations higher than prior art compositions are disclosed. Compositions containing elevated concentrations of total protein greater than heretofor proposed employ both the described oligopeptides and also free amino acids.

Abstract: A device for dispensing fluids includes a container which is at least partially transparent to permit viewing of the amount of fluid in the container, the container being arranged to dispense the fluid therefrom at a controlled rate. A scale having indicia thereof for relating the fluid level to a known parameter is initially independent of said container and mounting means are provided for mounting the scale on the container in a position to relate the liquid level in the container to the indicia on the scale according to the known parameter.

Abstract: An improvement in infusion solutions for parenteral solutions containing normally water-insoluble lipids and/or essential fatty components is disclosed. A minor amount sufficient to solubilize the said normally water-insoluble lipids and fatty components of a solubilizing mixture of ethanol and at least one member selected from the group consisting of propanediol, butane diol and hydroxy-substituted cholanic acid derivatives is mixed with the infusion solution to obtain a clear, pyrogen-free solution.
