    Abstract: A database contains variants of protocols for the operation of magnetic resonance tomographs as well as different types of magnetic resonance tomographs. Each variant contains parameter values and is associated with one of the types. In a training phase, relationships are determined between the parameters among one another and/or between the parameters and the associated types and are stored as patterns in a knowledge base. A protocol plan for the operation of a new magnetic resonance tomograph is created later in an application phase using the determined pattern. The method offers the advantage that the efficiency and quality of the automatic conversion of the protocols is improved. The improved quality of the protocol plan reduces operating time and costs for a manual post-processing of the protocols. Furthermore, a higher consistency of the protocols among one another is achieved both between product families and between individual configurations.

One predicted value is determined depending on the sensed values of the one first operating variable, the one additional variable, and/or the one determined estimated value. The operating strategy is set as a function of the comparison and of the at least one estimated variable in such a way that the predefined operating state is as far as possible avoided.

    Abstract: In a method for computer-assisted configuration of a medical imaging device for examination of a patient, training data are provided that include multiple variants of protocols in the form of protocol parameter sets for operation of the imaging device. The training data also include patient-specific parameter sets with one or more features of a patient, the patient-specific parameter sets being associated with the respective protocol parameter sets. Based on the training data, relations between the protocol parameter sets and the patient-specific parameter sets are learned with a data-driven leaning method and stored as patterns in a knowledge base. In an application phase, a protocol parameter set suitable for the examination of the patient can be determined with the use of the patterns in the knowledge base, depending on features of a patient that are provided to the imaging device.

    Abstract: Motor vehicle sensor signals are evaluated by a fuzzy system, which generates control signals for a system device of the motor vehicle—for example an automatic transmission, active suspension, speed stabilization, power-steering assistance, or traction control. The fuzzy system is connected to a neural network, which evaluates the sensor signals and reference data from a recording of driving data of the motor vehicle. The neural network optimizes the rule base of the fuzzy system. During a driving operation, the fuzzy system generates on-line signals categorizing the respective driving situation, and thus makes possible intelligent, time-adaptive, driving-situation-dependent control. The fuzzy system and the neural network each contain a classification system which can be reciprocally converted by a correspondence-maintaining bidirectional transformation.

    Abstract: A heart pacemaker with improved detection of electrical signals which are used for triggering pacemaker functions, has a detection circuit for registering intracardial heart signals in which certain noise signals having a generally chromatic spectrum are superimposed on the signals to be detected, the detection circuit undertaking an adaptive, non-linear noise filter of those intracardial heart signals for converting the spectrum of the noise signals into an essentially white spectrum. The signals filtered by the non-linear noise filtering are supplied to a matched filter wherein correlation of these signals with a sought signal pattern takes place.
