Patent number: 8838506Abstract: A database contains variants of protocols for the operation of magnetic resonance tomographs as well as different types of magnetic resonance tomographs. Each variant contains parameter values and is associated with one of the types. In a training phase, relationships are determined between the parameters among one another and/or between the parameters and the associated types and are stored as patterns in a knowledge base. A protocol plan for the operation of a new magnetic resonance tomograph is created later in an application phase using the determined pattern. The method offers the advantage that the efficiency and quality of the automatic conversion of the protocols is improved. The improved quality of the protocol plan reduces operating time and costs for a manual post-processing of the protocols. Furthermore, a higher consistency of the protocols among one another is achieved both between product families and between individual configurations.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2011Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Karlheinz Glaser-Seidnitzer, Werner Hauptmann, Berthold Kiefer, Clemens Otte

Patent number: 8489268Abstract: A predefined operating strategy permits a predefined operating mode of the motor vehicle. A first operating variable value of the operating mode and/or one additional variable value, which is independent of the operating mode are sensed and one estimated value is determined depending thereon, which is representative of one expected value of the one first operating variable of a second operating variable of the operating mode. One predicted value is determined depending on the sensed values of the one first operating variable, the one additional variable, and/or the one determined estimated value. The predicted value represents an expected operating state and is compared with one predefined comparison value, which is representative of one predefined operation state. The operating strategy is set as a function of the comparison and of the at least one estimated variable in such a way that the predefined operating state is as far as possible avoided.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2009Date of Patent: July 16, 2013Assignee: Continental Automotive GmbHInventors: Werner Hauptmann, Kai Heesche

Publication number: 20120190962Abstract: In a method for computer-assisted configuration of a medical imaging device for examination of a patient, training data are provided that include multiple variants of protocols in the form of protocol parameter sets for operation of the imaging device. The training data also include patient-specific parameter sets with one or more features of a patient, the patient-specific parameter sets being associated with the respective protocol parameter sets. Based on the training data, relations between the protocol parameter sets and the patient-specific parameter sets are learned with a data-driven leaning method and stored as patterns in a knowledge base. In an application phase, a protocol parameter set suitable for the examination of the patient can be determined with the use of the patterns in the knowledge base, depending on features of a patient that are provided to the imaging device.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 18, 2012Publication date: July 26, 2012Inventors: Karlheinz Glaser-Seidnitzer, Werner Hauptmann, Clemens Otte

Publication number: 20060234722Abstract: To determine a position of a mobile communications device within a communications network (localization). possible location areas for the mobile communications device are determined from communications signals of the mobile communications device by using base stations located within the communication network, and these possible location areas are superimposed to form a common location area while using a non-linear quantity-based filter. The position of the mobile communications device is then determined while using the common locations area.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 8, 2003Publication date: October 19, 2006Inventors: Uwe Hanebeck, Werner Hauptmann, Kai Heesche, Joachim Horn, Konrad Riegel, Klaus Riegel (Erbe), Gertraud Riegel (Erbe)

Patent number: 6471581Abstract: A method and an apparatus for ventilating at least one window in a vehicle by blowing and extracting air in a region of the window is described. The airflow blown against the window is substantially laminar and the air is extracted in an upper region of the window. A dew point is lower than the window temperature in a region of extraction being the upper region of the window, and an absolute humidity of the blown air is lower than that of the extracted air.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2000Date of Patent: October 29, 2002Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Werner Hauptmann, Tilmann Seubert, Volkmar Sterzing, Willfried Wienholt

Patent number: 6311114Abstract: A controller has characteristic diagram memories and a fuzzy system which detects operating parameters of a motor vehicle and sets a transmission ratio with the aid of the characteristic diagram memory. A driver inputs plus and minus gear shift instructions via an input device. The driver instructions are evaluated during a driving operation by an adaptation circuit, and the shifting behavior of a transmission is adapted to a desired shifting behavior.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2000Date of Patent: October 30, 2001Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Friedrich Graf, Werner Hauptmann, Kai Heesche

Patent number: 6208981Abstract: Motor vehicle sensor signals are evaluated by a fuzzy system, which generates control signals for a system device of the motor vehicle—for example an automatic transmission, active suspension, speed stabilization, power-steering assistance, or traction control. The fuzzy system is connected to a neural network, which evaluates the sensor signals and reference data from a recording of driving data of the motor vehicle. The neural network optimizes the rule base of the fuzzy system. During a driving operation, the fuzzy system generates on-line signals categorizing the respective driving situation, and thus makes possible intelligent, time-adaptive, driving-situation-dependent control. The fuzzy system and the neural network each contain a classification system which can be reciprocally converted by a correspondence-maintaining bidirectional transformation.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1998Date of Patent: March 27, 2001Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Friedrich Graf, Werner Hauptmann

Patent number: 6035735Abstract: The device contains an electronic control system, which, in an automatic mode, automatically determines the transmission ratio in dependence of an operating condition, and contains selector devices, which, in the automatic mode, determine the driving stages of the transmission control and, in a manual mode, change the transmission ratio in steps. After a manual selection of the transmission ratio, driving and operating situations in which the automatic mode of the control system is desirable are detected and, if such a situation is detected, a return circuit causes the electronic control system to return to the automatic mode.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 1998Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: Siemens AktiegesellschaftInventors: Friedrich Graf, Frank Lohrenz, Werner Hauptmann, Kai Heesche

Patent number: 5683425Abstract: A heart pacemaker with improved detection of electrical signals which are used for triggering pacemaker functions, has a detection circuit for registering intracardial heart signals in which certain noise signals having a generally chromatic spectrum are superimposed on the signals to be detected, the detection circuit undertaking an adaptive, non-linear noise filter of those intracardial heart signals for converting the spectrum of the noise signals into an essentially white spectrum. The signals filtered by the non-linear noise filtering are supplied to a matched filter wherein correlation of these signals with a sought signal pattern takes place.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 1995Date of Patent: November 4, 1997Assignee: Pacesetter ABInventor: Werner Hauptmann
