    Abstract: A method and an arrangement for controlling an internal combustion engine are suggested wherein a pregiven number of cylinders are shut off for reducing consumption and for reducing toxic substances in predetermined operating conditions. To maintain the torque desired by the driver, a correction of the ignition angle and/or a control of the cylinders to be suppressed is undertaken especially in the transition phase to cylinder shutoff and when switching on the cylinders. This is in addition to a corresponding influencing of the charge.

    Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for computing a fuel-metering signal for adjusting a pregiven lambda value for the composition of the air/fuel mixture of an internal combustion engine. In the method, a first signal is formed which represents the air quantity flowing into the engine and a second signal is formed on the basis of the first signal so that a first lambda desired value adjusts when using its second signal as a fuel-metering signal. Various additional second lambda desired values are formed as a function of operating parameters of the engine. A selection is made of those second lambda desired values having the highest priority and the fuel-metering signal is formed by weighting the second signal with the second lambda desired value of the highest priority.

    Abstract: A device for determining the ignition-advance angle of an internal combustion engine, having a device for determining the ignition-advance angle from stored maps on the basis of the recorded parameters of the internal combustion engine, includes a knock control device. The additive ignition-advance angle adjustment defined in the knock control device is able to be added to the ignition-advance map angle to define a base ignition-advance angle. A setpoint torque interface is supplied with the base ignition-advance angle and, at its output, supplies a torque-optimized setpoint ignition-advance angle. The torque-optimized setpoint ignition-advance angle is routed to at least one downstream limiting stage, which limits the setpoint ignition-advance angle to a value that is acceptable for the operation of the internal combustion engine. The output ignition-advance angle is available at the output of the at least one limiting stage for controlling the ignition.

    Abstract: A sheet depositing device comprises a depositing surface (2) limited by a front abutment (8). Above the depositing surface (2), a cover (4, 5) is pivotable about a journal (7). A hold-down element (6) provided on the cover (4, 5) is associated with the sheet stack (3) to be formed. It has a front end (6a) which rests under the action of gravity on sheet stack (3). Hold-down element (6) is connected with the cover (4, 5) via an engagement member (14) such that when the cover (4, 5) is opened, it is pivoted towards the cover so that the stacking area can be freely inspected and access is not obstructed when the cover (4, 5) is open. At the beginning of the opening movement of cover (4, 5) the front end (6a) of the hold-down element is caused by the engagement member (14) to move away from the abutment (8).

On an eccentric collar (5a) of sleeve (5), a first wheel (6) designed as a radial ball bearing is mounted whose circumferential surface has high static friction. When sleeve (5) is set in motion, it moves to and fro, the second wheel (4) being urged via an inclined surface (4b4c) into contact with the first wheel (6) and entraining said wheel by frictional engagement.

    Abstract: A process for determining the combustion pressure of an internal combustion engine is proposed. Conventional processes of this type have the disadvantage that the determination methods are very costly. Furthermore, stringent requirements are made of the sensors to be used. By comparison, the process proposed here is distinguished in that the combustion pressure is calculated from the combustion chamber pressure (p(.alpha.)) determined with simple sensors, by determining the compression pressure (p.sub.k (.alpha.)). These values for the compression pressure are subtracted from the combustion chamber pressure in order to calculate the combustion pressure p*(.alpha.)). Preferably, the course of the compression pressure is obtained by measuring the combustion chamber pressure values during the compression until top dead center in the working phase and storing them in a memory.
