  • Patent number: 6280665
Abstract: In a method of controlling the temperature of an injection or diecasting mold, the respective temperature of the mold being detected by at least one sensor and compared to a set point and coolant, in particular cooling water, being metered and added through cooling channels disposed in the mold in dependence on detected overshooting or undershooting of the set point, it is provided, with a view to avoiding any overswinging of the control, that opening the valves for metering the coolant is allocated to one threshold and closing the valves to the other.

  • Patent number: 5827465
Abstract: In a method for tempering an injection molding tool having a plurality of cooling conduits, in which a coolant liquid can be introduced in controlled fashion, wherein the injection molding tool has a mold recess into which molten molding composition is injected during an injection cycle and is ejected after solidifying, it is provided in order to optimize the heat dissipation that the cooling conduits are positioned parallel relative to the closest wall of the mold recess in such a way that the thermal energy to be dissipated in the injection cycle, resulting from the sum of the thermal energy of the part to be molded and heat exchange with the surroundings of the tool and the externally supplied energy, can be carried away maximally in the time of the heat transfer from the melt to the tool wall.

  • Patent number: 5772933
Abstract: A method for tempering an injection mold wherein in a recurrent cycle, the molten material is introduced under pressure into the mold recess of the injection mold, hardened and removed from the mold. Coolant or heating medium is supplied as a function of the deviation of the measured actual temperature from the desired command temperature. A plurality of flow control valves for the coolant or heating medium are preferably controlled via a measuring sensor. The three-dimensional quantitative distribution of coolant as needed is ascertained empirically or by computer with respect to the particular mold and the runners provided in the mold for the coolant or heating medium, and at least one specific time in the cycle period a comparison is made between the command temperature and the actual temperature of the one measuring sensor.

  • Patent number: 5427720
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of controlling the temperature of an injection mold, in particular for plastics and aluminium diecasting. The molten material being pressure-fed into the mold recess or the mold recesses of an injection mold by means of an extruder or the like in recurring cycles, cured therein, removed from the mold, and pressure-melted material being again supplied with the start of another cycle. A plurality of flow control valves are controlled by a sensor to provide an impulse or intermittent flow of the temperature control medium during each molding cycle at the same point in time as the previous cycle. The sensor compares a calculated temperature for a determined point in time of a molding cycle with the actual temperature of the molding cycle for that point in time and triggers the flow of temperature control medium for a set period of time to adjust the temperature of the molding cycle. This provides a more exact method of injection molding.

  • Patent number: 4840150
Abstract: A valve-actuating lever for internal combustion engines with a slide member disposed in a rectangular groove which is form-lockingly retained at the lever member by at least two strips within the area of the forward and rear edge in relation to the direction of rotation of the cam shaft, whereby the lever member is provided with undercuts within the area of the rectangular groove; the strips thereby consist of fiber-reinforced plastic material with a temperature resistance of at least 150.degree. C. and form-lockingly surround the undercuts of the lever member as well as the forward and rear edge of the slide body in relation to the direction of rotation. It is preferred if the strips are constructed as closed frame.

  • Patent number: 4816011
Abstract: In a tensioning device for belts and the like, in particular on motor vehicle engines, including at least two housing parts that can be swivelled relative to one another, one of which can be mounted in a stationary manner, it is provided, for the sake of unproblematic storage and reliable automatable mounting, that a screw element penetrates the housing parts in such a way that a threaded portion of the screw element protrudes freely from the stationary housing, wherein the screw element engages a bore of a plate of plastic, cardboard or the like joined to the stationary housing.

  • Patent number: 4813915
Abstract: In a tightening device for belts and the like, in particular on motor vehicle engines, having a friction bushing and a helical spring cooperating with the friction bushing, it is provided, in order to attain good cushioning and damping of low-amplitude vibrations and shocks with a simple constructional design, that the wall of the annular gap is embodied deviating from a circular cross section and correspondingly resting against the helical spring in such a way that the pressing force of the helical spring on the friction bushing is reduced or rescinded in an intermediate position established as the basic position in the operating state.

  • Patent number: 4607737
Abstract: A hydraulically operating clutch release includes a housing having a pressure chamber sealed by a roll membrane. A clutch bearing is axially displaceable in the housing. A support body abuts the roll membrane in the chamber, and resiliently engages the bottom surface of the pressure chamber in the axial direction, to prevent damage to the roll membrane.

  • Patent number: 4490128
Abstract: An annular wheel of plastic is rotatably mounted on a central bearing. The wheel has a generally H-shaped cross-section, with radially outward and radially inward arms joined by a radial crossbar. An array of stiffening ribs at various circumferential locations around the crossbar of the H-shaped cross-section stiffen the wheel. To prevent the peripheral travel surface of the outward arm of the wheel from developing undulations during cooling following initial molding of the plastic wheel, the ribs have recesses in their opposite, axially outwardly directed sides. Dimensional relationships between the axial width and circumferential thickness of the rib, and the peripheral surface of the wheel and the thickness of the crossbar of the wheel are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4201425
Abstract: A locking device for maintaining the split inner ring of a bearing in assembled relation during shipment and handling prior to installation. The locking device is of generally rectangular shape and is made of a resilient elastically deformable material so that it is readily inserted and removed from the inner ring bore. When seated in place it exerts a clamping action in a radial direction by spring action and contacts in the bore of both inner ring parts of the bearing.
