    Abstract: A cooling arrangement for cooling charge air of a supercharged internal combustion engine. In a charge-air line that leads to the internal combustion engine, there are provided a compressor arrangement, which has at least one compressor stage, and an expansion arrangement, which has at least one expansion stage for lowering the pressure level and thus for cooling the charge air. A cooling device is provided between the compressor arrangement and the expansion arrangement. The at least one compressor stage and the at least one expansion stage are connected in series and are respectively connected in terms of drive to an electric motor. The compressor arrangement has at least two compressor stages connected in parallel.

    Abstract: An exhaust turbocharger has a housing, in which a shaft is mounted by bearings, which carries a turbine wheel, on the one hand, and a compressor wheel, on the other hand. An electric machine has a rotor and a stator. The rotor is secured on the shaft for conjoint rotation therewith and the stator surrounds the rotor radially on the outside. A sleeve, which supports the rotor radially and axially, is arranged between the stator and the rotor. The sleeve has at least one fluid duct, by way of which a cooling fluid can be guided toward the bearings of the shaft.

The first connecting duct (28) is connected to a first bypass duct (29) that issues into a tailpipe line (32) downstream of the second turbine (19) to bypass the second turbine (19). The first bypass duct (29) has a second control valve (44) that can block the first bypass duct (29). The first connecting duct (28) has a first control valve (43) that can block the first connecting duct (28) to prevent exhaust gas from flowing through the first turbine (9) to the second turbine (19).

    Abstract: An exhaust system has first and second exhaust gas turbochargers for a V-8 internal combustion engine having an ignition sequence of a 90° crank angle from one cylinder to the next in each of two cylinder banks. The exhaust system includes a first-through-fourth exhaust lines from the cylinders to the two exhaust gas turbochargers, with two cylinders respectively being assigned to an exhaust line. One exhaust turbocharger is respectively assigned to two exhaust lines. The two cylinders assigned to an exhaust line having an ignition interval of a 360° crank angle. The first and the second exhaust lines assigned to an exhaust gas turbocharger having an ignition sequence displaced with respect to one another by a 180° crank angle. As a result, the opening phase of the charge cycle intake valves can be prolonged, which leads to a significantly higher power of the internal combustion engine.
