  • Patent number: 7847790
Abstract: A film interactive touchpad for control of home systems. A touchscreen defined by a glass panel and polyester film defines active areas responsive to contact. Multiple, customizable and interchangeable templates correspond with multiple levels of functionality and define input and control buttons corresponding to active areas of the touchpad. A display such as an organic light emitting diode (OLED) provides interactive, color feedback. The touchscreen has a hinged connection to the touchpad and is pivotable to an open position to permit insertion and removal of the overlay templates, and is surrounded by a trim ring dam to prevent moisture intrusion. A light sensor is provided for detecting the ambient light level and adjusting the intensity of a backlight for faceplates of any color.

  • Publication number: 20100102604
Abstract: An encircling head restraint rigidly though movably attached to a seat within a vehicle, such that in the event of a crash or other sudden movement, the head of the occupant of the seat is protected, and excess movement of the head and neck is prevented. The encircling head restraint sits around the head, but does not touch the head so that the occupant can move the head within the encircling head restraint. The encircling head restraint prevents excess movement of the head in all directions. In a preferred embodiment the encircling head restraint is movably mounted to a child's car seat such that it can be adjusted up or down to fit properly on the head of the child. The encircling head restraint is adjustable to accommodate different sized heads. There is a hinge mechanism that allows the encircling head restraint to be easily moved out of the way to allow easy access to the seat by the occupant.

  • Patent number: 6510587
Abstract: A door closure preventing device is mounted on the inside surface of a door and has a pivotal stop moveable between a deactivated position within the periphery of the door and the extended position extending beyond the periphery of the door to prevent closure of the door. The pivotal stop is moved to its extended position following opening of the door by a user and is then released to move by a spring to an intermediate position projecting beyond the door periphery following which closure of the door results in engagement of the door jamb by the stop to prevent complete closure. Engagement of the stop with the door jamb also returns the stop to is fully extended position and actuates a rotary latch so that upon subsequent opening movement of the door by the user the stop is automatically returned to its fully retracted position to permit a conventional door closure apparatus to fully close the door.
