  • Patent number: 5415610
Abstract: In a frame with a horizontal bed (10) and a vertical upright (12) there is for bracing and stiffening a vertical rigid wall (14) rigidly with the bed (10) and the upright (12) connected. The bed (10), the upright (12) and the wall (14) are cast as a single piece of a polymerizable resin-concrete. The wall (14) provides the frame with a high bend and torsional stiffness at a low weight. The wall (14) additionally serves to receive guides and bearing arrangements for functional elements of the machine tool, which by this means can be disposed spatially one above the other.

  • Patent number: 5279324
Abstract: A plumbing system is provided with a coupling having a chamber, an inlet passageway through which a fluid may enter the chamber from a supply, an outlet passageway through which a fluid may exit the chamber and the coupling, and a vent passageway in fluid communication with the chamber and having a vent inlet in communication with ambient atmosphere and a vent outlet in communication with the chamber. The coupling is provided between a source of liquid (e.g. a control capsule for mixing hot and cold water supplies via a user operable valve) and an outlet nozzle (e.g., a hose-connected spray head). A vacuum breaker check valve is located in the vent passageway of the coupling and includes a valve member for closing the vent inlet when pressure in the chamber is greater than pressure at the vent inlet and for opening the vent inlet when pressure in the chamber is less than pressure at the vent inlet.

  • Patent number: 4647730
Abstract: For each phase to be switched, there is provided at least one pair of fixed contacts consisting of an upper fixed contact and a lower fixed contact as well as one rotary or movable contact. The rotary contact is rotatable about an axis of rotation and is in constant engagement with one of the fixed contacts. The rotary or movable contact is supported on a support made of insulating material. The support is also rotatable. To reduce the torsion moment or torque required for turning the rotary contact to a minimum, the rotatable support possesses, in the vicinity of the rotary or movable contacts, a cranked or bent section in the form of a crank shaft in which an open-ended recess or aperture is provided for each contact. There recesses or apertures carry the rotary or movable contact.

  • Patent number: 4431887
Abstract: A movable contact element is surrounded by a co-movable blast nozzle which in the cut-on position is closed by a stationary contact element which is in engagement with the movable contact element. At its inlet side the blast nozzle is flow connected with a pump chamber or compartment which can be pressurized during the cut-off stroke. This pump chamber is constructed in a jacket or shell chamber-like fashion and bounded by an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder. The inner cylinder carries the movable contact element and the outer cylinder carries the blast nozzle. Both cylinders are displaceable by means of a stationarily supported pump piston. In order to prevent any obstruction to the flow of the extinguishing gas which is effluxing out of the pump chamber during the cut-off stroke, both of the cylinders are solely connected with one another at their ends facing away from the blast nozzle by means of a substantially ring-shaped floor member which is preferably formed at both cylinders.
