  • Publication number: 20200191081
Abstract: A driver alert arrangement for a motor vehicle includes a sensor detecting a level of carbon monoxide associated with the motor vehicle and transmitting a signal indicative of the detected level of carbon monoxide. An engine ignition has an ON state in which the engine ignition enables operation of an engine of the motor vehicle, and an OFF state in which the engine ignition disables operation of the engine of the motor vehicle. An electronic processor is communicatively coupled to the sensor and to the engine ignition. The electronic processor receives the signal from the sensor and controls whether the engine ignition is in the ON state or the OFF state dependent upon the signal.

  • Patent number: 10676168
Abstract: A breathing-air tank pressure tracking system includes a housing having lights mounted therein. The lights are spaced-apart from one another and disposed along a line. A pressure sensor is coupled to a tank containing pressurized breathing air. The pressure sensor detects a pressure of the pressurized breathing air and produces a signal indicative thereof. The housing is configured to be coupled to an exterior portion of a dive helmet wherein the lights are positioned in a field-of-view of a user wearing the dive helmet. A controller, mounted in the housing, is coupled to the pressure sensor and the lights. The controller activates selected ones of the lights based on the signal received from the pressure sensor.

  • Publication number: 20190368003
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for using a pressurized oxy-fired configuration to conduct metal reduction. The invention discloses a process for production of metal from metal oxide ore through reduction, comprising: (a) feeding a mixture of metal oxide ore, fuel and supply of oxygen into the inlet of a metallization reactor, (b) heating the mixture of metal oxide ore, oxygen and fuel in a primary reduction zone of the metallization reactor at a pressure exceeding ambient pressure to produce a product mixture; and (c) separating the product mixture in a gas separation unit at the bottom or downstream of the metallization reactor.

  • Patent number: 10071277
Abstract: An exercise training device for use with a motorcycle for working out to improve a rider's physical fitness is provided. The training device includes a base, a mounting plate, and a plurality of support legs extending from the base. A coil spring is vertically mounted between the base and the mounting plate. A motorcycle can be releasably affixed to the mounting plate with a plurality of hold downs. The coil spring deflects in response to lateral forces such that the affixed motorcycle can pitch and roll when subject to sufficient force.

  • Patent number: 10066892
Abstract: An automated weapon system comprising an active recoil control system, a bi-directional recoil containment and double strike prevention system and a mortar retention system. The active recoil control system uses multiple sensors in combination with a solenoid controlled multi-disc brake to adjust the weapon recoil. Using outputs from the sensors, a controller predicts and reacts to a recoiling mass performance and applies the required braking force, in order to compensate for anticipated or actual variations. Feedback from the sensors allows the active recoil control system to adjust braking during the recoil strokes and counter-recoil strokes in order to optimize the weapon operation and performance in extreme firing conditions.

  • Publication number: 20160166448
Abstract: An adhesive absorptive pad can be adhesively applied on a patient's skin to prevent spillage and pooling of liquid antiseptics used for skin preparation prior to a surgical or aseptic procedure. The adhesive absorptive pad includes an impermeable posterior layer, an absorbent middle layer, and a permeable anterior layer over the absorbent middle layer. The posterior layer has an adhesive material that can adhere to the skin of the patient in a liquid-tight manner provided on its back side, which is the side of the posterior layer opposite the side facing the absorbent middle layer.
