  • Patent number: 4231230
Abstract: An accumulator for use in a refrigerant circuit having a tube in which are formed inlet and discharge openings and a cylindrical shell which is deformed by metal spinning against the exterior surface of the tube to form a container which serves as the accumulator. A diverter is provided between the discharge opening and the inlet opening to prevent direct flow through the tube bypassing the container. A method of manufacture of the accumulator by metal spinning is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4094230
Abstract: A self-aligning and end fixity connector for connecting a hydraulic cylinder piston rod to its respective section in a multi-section telescopic boom assembly wherein a pair of rectangular plates are secured to the free end of the piston rod, the plates being received in retainers secured to the boom section to thereby prevent the piston rod from rotating and thus providing end fixity to the rod. A clearance is provided between the plates and the retainers to allow a slight floating action of the rod in a vertical plane so that the rod connection point is substantially in alignment with the cylinder connection point to allow full retraction without binding of the boom sections.

  • Patent number: 4076167
Abstract: Apparatus for venting a plate fin coil during the ultrasonic soldering of aluminum return bend tubes to the heat exchange tubes in the coil. The apparatus includes a process snorkel member comprising a bored plug for telescoping inside an extension tube extending from an open end of a heat exchange tube forming an end of a circuit in the coil, and a venting tube defining an air conduit from the plug to the atmosphere, whereby the pressure in the interior of the plate fin coil assembly is relieved when the fin coil is immersed in the solder bath.

  • Patent number: 4045519
Abstract: Dialkylphosphites are made by adding PCl.sub.3 to a mixture of water and alkanol and distilling product from the resultant reaction mixture leaving a distillation residue. Alkanol is added to the residue and the mixture reacted at elevated temperature to yield additional dialkylphosphite.
