The second main routine or sub-method can include one for analyzing new samples of a product over time and maintaining prediction accuracy as compared to a reference method over time. The first routine can include a “TRANS” procedure, a “MIN” procedure, and checkcell tests. The second main routine provides techniques on how a product database can be cleaned, condensed, and expanded automatically as it is used by one or more different optical instruments.

The materials to be fragmented or crumbed are fed between pairs of rotating rollers having negative rake teeth. A plurality of stages of rotating rollers are placed in series to obtain the desired particle size.

    Abstract: Waste rubber containing carbon black is broken down in size into small pieces, purged of air and then fed into a retort, likewise purged of air and continuously rotated or oscillated about its longitudinal axis. The retort is maintained at a temperature ranging between 275.degree. F. and 1000.degree. F., and preferably ranging between 500.degree. F. and 850.degree. F., to produce rubberized carbon black consisting of particles of carbon, each particle encapsulated in a sphere of rubber of 1-60 microns in diameter.Rubberized carbon black can be compounded with virgin rubber or polymer such as scrap high density polyethylene or both virgin rubber and polymer, and can then be formed into various shapes having useful and valuable physical, mechanical and thermal properties.

    Abstract: An automated loading system for nuclear reactor fuel elements utilizes a gravity feed conveyor which permits individual fuel pins to roll along a constrained path perpendicular to their respective lengths. The individual lengths of fuel cladding are directed onto movable transports, where they are aligned coaxially with the axes of associated handling equipment at appropriate production stations. Each fuel pin can be reciprocated axially and/or rotated about its axis as required during handling steps. The fuel pins are inserted as a batch prior to welding of end caps by one of two disclosed welding systems.

Loading of magnetic rings and end caps is accomplished automatically in conjunction with the welding steps carried out within the tube.

The shoulder can be provided on a separate collar or ring, or on the funnel itself.

    Abstract: A game of chance simulating the betting in horse racing. A game board contains the numbers of hypothetical horses, and indications of odds paid on each horse in each position of that horse in the race, as Win, Place and Show. A wheel or roulette type indicator, includes a dial with the numbers of the horses arranged in a circle, and a rotatable arrow or spinner which upon being rotated or spun, and after stopping, indicates the horses in the particular race concerned. The spinner has three arms, each indicating a respective one of the horses as to its position, i.e., whether Win, Place or Show. A combinations chart is included, which shows the combinations of the positions of the first three horses in each race, that is, for each position of stopping of the indicator, a predetermined combination of horses constitute the first three in that race.
