  • Patent number: 5093462
Abstract: Hydroxy functional epoxidized amino resins comprising glycidamide groups. The polyglycidamides are produced from alkoxymethyl amino resins by reaction with acrylamide, followed by reaction with a polyol to introduce hydroxy functionality and then the unsaturated groups of the hydroxyfunctional acrylamidomethyl amino resins are epoxidized with an epoxidation agent such as hydrogen peroxide. The polyglycidamides are formulated with epoxy reactants to provide curable epoxy systems.

  • Patent number: 5003066
Abstract: The polyglycidamides are epoxy derivatives of cyclic ureas such as glycouril and aminotriazines such as melamine and guanamines. They are prepared from cyclic ureas and aminotriazines by methylolating with formaldehyde, etherifying with an alcohol, transetheramidizing with acrylamide and epoxidizing with hydrogen peroxide. They are used with polyamines and other epoxy reactive oligomers to provide crosslinkable coating systems which posses solvent, chemical and water resistance and UV stability.

  • Patent number: 4931536
Abstract: Hydroxy functional acrylamido amino resins comprising hydroxy-hydrocarbyl groups. The resins are produced by reaction of alkoxymethyl amino resins with acrylamide to introduce acrylamidomethyl groups and then with a polyol to introduce hydroxy functionality. The hydroxy functional acrylamido amino resins may be epoxidized to form polyglycidamides which can then be formulated with epoxy reactants to provide curable epoxy systems.

  • Patent number: 4931537
Abstract: Curable epoxy systems comprising polyglycidamides and epoxy reactants. The polyglycidamides are hydroxy functional polyglycidamides derived from amino resins. The epoxy systems can be used as laminating, encapsulating and coating resins. When the epoxy reactant is an anhydride, cure under ambient conditions is obtained.
