  • Patent number: 9339124
Abstract: A temperature-controlled display case is convertible between a full-service mode and a self-service mode and defines a temperature-controlled space therein. A base has a back side and a front side and supports temperature-controlled food products within the temperature-controlled space. A back frame is coupled adjacent to the back side of the base and provides one or more openings for back-side access to the food products during the full-service mode. A top frame is supported by the back frame and a linkage has one end pivotally coupled to the top frame. A front panel has a top portion pivotally coupled to the linkage and is movable between a deployed position for the full-service mode with the front panel adjacent to the front of the base, and a stowed position for the self-service mode with the front panel disposed atop the top frame to provide front-side access to the food products.

  • Patent number: 8937448
Abstract: Systems and methods for processing power provided to downhole electrical systems such as electric submersible pump motors to increase the power factor of the supplied power. In one embodiment, a system comprises a downhole motor and a power factor corrector. The motor may be coupled to drive an electric submersible pump. The power factor corrector is configured to receive input power, process the received input power using one or more capacitive electrical components and thereby impart a capacitive phase shift between the voltage and the current of the received input power. The processed output power is provided to the downhole motor, which consumes the processed output power with a power factor which is greater than it would have been in the absence of the correction.

  • Patent number: 6056800
Abstract: A method for composting organic waste materials utilizing aerobic and anaerobic decomposition processes simultaneously is disclosed. The method of the present invention is carried out by forming a compost pile of organic waste material which will decompose aerobically by microbes indigenous to the waste material. A cavity of predetermined size is formed within the compost heap and filled with alternating layers of organic waste material which will decompose anaerobically followed by a layer of waste material which will decompose aerobically until the cavity is filled. The parameters of the decomposition processes including temperature, water content, aeration, and moisture percolation are monitored to ensure that adequate conditions are met for both decomposition processes to proceed simultaneously. After a predetermined time interval has passed, the organic waste materials deposited within the central cavity of the compost heap are harvested to obtain a nutrient rich, soil additive.

  • Patent number: 5806106
Abstract: A seat lifter attachment for a toilet base including a mounting bracket resting on and attached to a rear upper surface portion of said toilet base by clamping action of a toilet seat and a second portion extending downwardly along one side of said toilet base. A first pivot fixedly has an axis extending outwardly from the second portion and a second pivot is mounted on and extends outwardly from the second portion. A pivotal actuator lever arm is mounted for pivotal movement on the second pivot and toilet seat lifter is pivotally mounted on the first pivot for pivotal movement on the second pivot and is engageable with the toilet seat for effecting movement of the toilet seat from a lower horizontal position to a lifted vertical position in response to the pivotal movement of the pivotal actuator lever arm.

  • Patent number: 4761066
Abstract: An optical system for producing stereoscopic imaging of a subject. The system includes an objective lens for producing an image of the subject, and right and left ocular lenses for viewing the image through right and left eyes, respectively. A polarizing filter device positioned near the objective lens divides the image produced by the objective lens into left and right perspective components characterized by different polarization directions. Right and left polarizing filters positioned near the right and left ocular lenses allow these right and left perspective components to be viewed exclusively through the right and left ocular lenses, respectively. One embodiment of the invention is a high-power stereoscopic microscope. Another embodiment is a single-objective binocular telescope.
