  • Patent number: 4627434
Abstract: A bone cement system and related methods useful in flowing liquid bone cement into a prepared long bone medullary canal prior to implanting a prothesis stem in the canal.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 3, 1985
Date of Patent: December 9, 1986
    Inventor: William M. Murray
  • Patent number: 4625722
Abstract: A bone cement system and related methods useful in flowing liquid bone cement into a prepared long bone medullary canal prior to implanting a prothesis stem in the canal.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4551863
Abstract: An implant component having a cement stem, a shaft extending outwardly of the proximal end of the stem and a head fitted on the shaft including a bone joint ball and bone ingrowth material on the neck of the head. The component is secured to the proximal end of a live femur by cementing the stem into the medullary canal, positioning the surface of the ingrowth material flush against a complementary live bone surface and growing a live bone connection into the ingrowth material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 4, 1985
Date of Patent: November 12, 1985
    Inventor: William M. Murray
  • Patent number: 4483334
Abstract: An external fixation device for holding bone segments in known relation to each other includes a pair of bone clamp assemblies each secured to bone pins extending from the bone segments, a bridge extending between the pin clamp assemblies and a specialized high friction universal assembly connecting the bridge to each of the pin clamp assemblies.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 11, 1983
Date of Patent: November 20, 1984
    Inventor: William M. Murray
  • Patent number: 4466435
Abstract: An improved bone cement nozzle and method for use in filling a long bone medullary canal with bone cement. The nozzle includes an expandable shield which scrapes the canal wall and pressurizes the cement as it enters the canal so that it flows into interstices in the bone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 4, 1981
Date of Patent: August 21, 1984
    Inventor: William M. Murray
  • Patent number: 4245625
Abstract: An air-activated water agitator for hydrotherapy treatments comprises an elongate, flexible conduit having a series of jet openings at intervals along its length and a coupling for connecting the conduit with a source of pressurized air such as a common household vacuum cleaner. The agitator advantageously provides maximum patient stimulation by permitting equalized pressurized air streams to be introduced into the water from all sides of the tank or from a localized portion of the tank without requiring potentially dangerous electrical devices to be in or near the water.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 26, 1979
Date of Patent: January 20, 1981
    Inventor: William M. Murray
  • Patent number: 3960147
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for placing adjacent bone ends under end to end compression using a staple having spaced apart prongs adapted to be forced into adjacent bone ends, said prongs being connected at one end by a head member having at least two spaced apart transverse ribs, removably engageably by a drive means for inserting the prongs in the bone ends and then forcing the ribs of the head member together to urge the prongs together and toe them in.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 10, 1975
Date of Patent: June 1, 1976
