  • Publication number: 20210008566
Abstract: Systems and methods for handling a variety of sample and preparatory fluids in a rack specifically configured for compatibility with predetermined liquid handlers such as automated pipettors or multi-channel manual pipettors and set up for magnetic based sample preparation. The rack can hold all of the necessary sample and reagent vials, and present them to the pipettor in some embodiments in a way that allows for parallel operation. The rack includes slidable magnets that in some embodiments are actuatable directly by the pipettor, eliminating a layer of complexity. Combined with a suitable pipettor the magnet enabled rack supports a multistep magnetic based sample preparation capability in a high throughput manner at one station that enhances sample purity throughout magnetic separation processes.

  • Patent number: 10130951
Abstract: Provided are devices for recovery of cells from a microfluidic device. In particular, provided are open-ended conical tubes for recovery of cells from a microfluidic device and methods of use. In some embodiments, the open-ended conical tubes comprise: i) a nipple portion (7), wherein the nipple portion (7) comprises a length in the range of 0.2 to 0.3 inches, a diameter in the range of 0.2 to 0.3 inches, wherein the nipple portion (7) comprises a narrow orifice; ii) a conical portion (5) attached to and in fluid communication with the nipple portion, wherein the conical portion (5) has a length in the range of 1.0 to 1.

  • Patent number: 9988686
Abstract: Provided are stimulus-sensitive microparticles and their use, e.g., in tracking the efficiency of recovery of a rare cell population (e.g., circulating tumor cells) from a mixture of cells; and in supplying control nucleic acids to index a molecular assay independent of the rare cell selection steps.

  • Publication number: 20170226588
Abstract: A heuristic filtering system and method are described for variant DNA within a heterogeneous cell sample. After ion semiconductor sequencing, the amplicons are processed through a series of filters designed to eliminate noise in the variants to provide a clearer set of variant results. Reports are generated, showing both the filtered results and the effects the filters had on the original data.
