Patent number: 9429583Abstract: A system and method for the detection and quantification of fragile X mental retardation protein (FMRP) in human tissue and blood samples. The system includes several high avidity monoclonal antibodies that may be provided on Xmap microspheres to capture FMRP from a tissue or blood specimen. The resulting complex is reacted with a polyclonal anti-FMRP rabbit antibody and then mixed with an anti-rabbit IgG antibody conjugated to phycoerythrin. Fluorescence emitted from the resulting complex is a function of the amount of FMRP present in the specimen.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 2014Date of Patent: August 30, 2016Assignee: RESEARCH FOUNDATION FOR MENTAL HYGIENE, INC.Inventors: Giuseppe LaFauci, William T. Patent number: 6750454Abstract: Thermal response of a turbine component to application of thermal stimuli is automatically analyzed by regions of interest. Each region may be analyzed for conformance for a number of thermal response metrics, in an absolute sense, and/or relative to each other. The thermal response metrics may include the temperature threshold a particular region (e.g. the reference/primary region) exhibits a critical response size, and that the sub-region achieving the critical response size at the temperature threshold also has a critical shape. The analyses may be performed using the pixel values of the constituting pixels of a picture frame of the turbine component's thermal response. A binary passed or failed conclusion may be reached based on the results of the automated analyses.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2001Date of Patent: June 15, 2004Assignee: Computerized Thermal Imaging, Inc.Inventors: William T. Brown, Brian A. Dalio

Publication number: 20030100987Abstract: In accordance with a first aspect of the present invention, thermal response of a turbine component to application of thermal stimuli is automatically analyzed by regions of interest. In accordance with another aspect, each region is analyzed for conformance for a number of thermal response metrics, in an absolute sense, and/or relative to each other. In one embodiment, the thermal response metrics include the temperature threshold a particular region (e.g. the reference/primary region) exhibits a critical response size, and that the sub-region achieving the critical response size at the temperature threshold also has a critical shape. In one embodiment, the analyses are performed using the pixel values of the constituting pixels of a picture frame of the turbine component's thermal response. In accordance with yet another aspect, a binary passed or failed conclusion is reached based on the results of the automated analyses.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2001Publication date: May 29, 2003Inventors: William T. Brown, Brian A. Dalio

Patent number: 4215444Abstract: A doorless shower stall which confines water such that it cannot be sprayed nor splashed outside of the stall is disclosed. The stall includes a shower chamber area which is enclosed except for an entry passage to the shower chamber. Connected to the shower chamber area by the entry passage is an antechamber having a primary entry way which leads outside of the shower stall and which primary entry way is substantially perpendicular to the entry passage into the shower chamber. In a preferred embodiment, the shower stall is manufactured of molded fiberglass or other material which includes a floor which slopes such that water in the antechamber runs away from the primary entry way and through the entry passage into the shower chamber. The floor of the shower chamber is itself sloped toward a drain located at a desired location in the shower chamber. The shower stall may further include a molded fiberglass cap or ceiling to further prevent escaping moisture from causing damage outside of the shower stall.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 1979Date of Patent: August 5, 1980Inventor: William T. Patent number: 4132250Abstract: A system is disclosed for use in twisting together two or more wires precisely to a predetermined number of turns. The apparatus includes a pair of spaced chucks adapted to grip opposite ends of the wires which are placed therebetween for twisting. A manually operated switch causes the chuck jaws to close through a pneumatic control at the start of the twisting operation once the wires are in position. At the end of the twisting operation the jaws open automatically and the twisted wires are dropped. One of the chucks is fixed against rotation but is adapted to slide axially to a limited extent controlled by means of a coil spring in order to accommodate for the shortening of the wires as they are twisted. The other chuck is fixed against axial motion but rotatably mounted and driven by a motor adapted to rotate for a precise number of turns.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1977Date of Patent: January 2, 1979Assignee: Alphatron IncorporatedInventors: William T. Brown, Robert J. Moran, Larry M. LeBlanc
