Patent number: 8708554Abstract: A leak detection apparatus for aircraft bleed air systems includes a supporting spacer positioned within the shroud and supported upon the bleed air duct of the aircraft. A sleeve supported on the exterior of the shroud further supports a plenum having generally cylindrical sensor tubes through which sensor wire sets pass. A director positioned within the shroud above the bleed air duct is coupled to a generally cylindrical accumulator which in turn is in communication with the plenum. Appropriate apertures are provided to vent and direct bleed air from the shroud interior to the sensor wire sets and thereafter vent outwardly into cooler ambient air. The sensor wire sets respond to the temperature of the bleed air leakage to trigger alarm apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2011Date of Patent: April 29, 2014Assignee: Arrowhead Products CorporationInventors: William W. Publication number: 20020060124Abstract: A base structure is disclosed for the installation and support of one or more gaming machines (sometimes referred to as, but not limited to, slot machines). The base includes mounting or attachment means for attaching the gaming machine or machines, including a removable interface element between the remainder of the base and the gaming machine. A uniform attachment structure between the interface element and the remainder of the base enables ready customization of those elements to accommodate differing gaming machines and their specific attachment structures (as well as wiring and coin drop locations), permitting the ready replacement or moving of gaming machines without the need to move or change the entire base structure. The base structure can also house electrical wiring, provide a secure enclosure for money overflow (drop), and provide storage for support supplies such as bill acceptor boxes and refill coin.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 1999Publication date: May 23, 2002Inventor: WILLIAM W. Patent number: 5711444Abstract: A transport container having a base and a plurality of side walls perpendicularly connected to form a container having an inner cavity. The side walls are formed of first and second wall panels. The first and second wall panels are hingedly connected so that the first or upper wall panels may fold down relative to the second or lower wall panels to collapse the transport container after use. The first and second wall panels are hingedly connected by an elongated flexible hinge. Edge portions of the first wall panels have coupling assemblies that are designed to selectively connect and disconnect adjacent first wall panels.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 1996Date of Patent: January 27, 1998Assignee: Temp Top Container Systems, Inc.Inventors: Patrick E. Patent number: 5642923Abstract: The present invention relates to a removable shelf system for a transport container. The removable shelf system includes shelves supported between opposed shelf supports. The shelf supports are supported in an upright position within an inner cavity of the container. The shelves may be removably supported relative to the shelf supports so that the shelves may be removed from the container when not in use or alternatively may be pivotally supported relative to the shelf supports so that the shelf system may be collapsed for storage.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 1995Date of Patent: July 1, 1997Assignee: Temp Top Container Systems, Inc.Inventors: Patrick E. Meacham, Mark W. Wallace, Carl R. Nyberg, William W. Thompson, James P. Bland

Patent number: 5635216Abstract: A composition of polyester microparticles containing bioactive polypeptide agents and methods for preparing the composition and administering bioactive agents. The composition comprises biocompatible, biodegradable microparticles having a polyester matrix and from about 5% to about 25% by weight of a biologically active, water-soluble polypeptide dispersed throughout the matrix, the polypeptide selected from the group consisting of growth hormone releasing factor, synthetic analogs of growth hormone releasing factor, pharmacologically active fragment thereof and somatogenin. The method for preparing the composition includes dissolving polyester in an organic solvent; suspending a biologically active agent in the polyester solution; emulsifying the suspension into an aqueous medium in which the agent is insoluble and evaporating the solvent from the emulsion to produce microparticles.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1993Date of Patent: June 3, 1997Assignee: Eli Lilly and CompanyInventor: William W. Patent number: 5149909Abstract: An ammunition feed system wherein a single layer of alternatingly opposing rounds of ammunition is conveyed in a magazine by a single closed loop conveyor disposed along a serpentine path. The opposing rounds are fed into a twister conveyor apparatus which aligns the rounds and conveys the aligned rounds onto a pair of parallel paths. The aligned rounds on the parallel paths are received by a pair of feed rotors for alternate insertion into a single gun feeding conveyor. Spent rounds are withdrawn from the conveyor by a pair of return rotors, which return the spent rounds to a second twister conveyor. The second twister conveyor reorients the rounds into an alternating opposed configuration and returns the rounds to the serpentine path. Each twister conveyor includes two pairs of sprockets oriented in a perpendicular configuration. Each pair of sprockets carries one closed loop of conveyor elements for conveying rounds.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 1991Date of Patent: September 22, 1992Assignee: North American DynamicsInventors: Richard L. Hagen, William C. Baldwin, William W. Thompson

Patent number: 5147972Abstract: An ammunition feed system wherein a single layer of ammunition is conveyed in a magazine by two independent closed loop conveyors disposed side by side in parallel, serpentine paths. Live rounds are fed on parallel output paths into first and second expansion rotor systems which, in turn, supply the rounds to a pair of feed rotors which insert the rounds alternately into a gun feeding conveyor. Spent rounds are withdrawn from the conveyor by a pair of return rotors, which, in turn, supply third and fourth expansion rotors, which return the spent rounds to the first and second parallel serpentine paths. The feed and return rotors contain pockets for receiving rounds alternating with surfaces for guiding rounds and cooperate with the expansion rotors to double the rate at which ammunition exits the system over that at which it is transferred out of the magazine.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 1991Date of Patent: September 15, 1992Assignee: North American DynamicsInventors: Richard L. Hagen, William W. Thompson

Patent number: 4488386Abstract: A flood shield assembly for providing an exterior waterproof barrier for a building includes a roll of flexible, waterproof material having its leading edge attached to the foundation of the building below ground level. The remainder of the roll is stored in a box having a cover at ground level. The waterproof material is formed in one-piece and has an overall length which substantially corresponds to the exterior dimensions of the building with which it is employed. In the event of a flood threat the roll of waterproof material is removed from the box, drawn upwardly along, and attached to the side of the building to provide a barrier between the house and the flood waters.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 1982Date of Patent: December 18, 1984Inventor: William W. Patent number: 4386703Abstract: A serving tray for use in a food rethermalizing cabinet. The tray is sectioned by a thermal divider and formed so that dishes of food placed therein can be selectively heated or cooled by separate air streams flowing from one end of the tray to the other. The thermal divider extends from one side of the tray to the other separating the tray interior into two channels. Inlet and outlet ports are provided at opposite ends of each channel. Tapered connectors on the sides of the tray are designed to mate with matching tapered sections in the cabinet such that when the tray is firmly seated in the cabinet, a fluid tight seal exists between the mating connector members. The inlet and outlet ports for each channel are precisely aligned with corresponding ports in the cabinet and the tray is supported thereby in the cabinet and cannot be inserted in reverse orientation.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1977Date of Patent: June 7, 1983Assignee: Owens-Illinois, Inc.Inventors: William W. Thompson, Samuel L. Belcher
