  • Patent number: 8220192
Abstract: Firing assemblies for use with firearms are described. A firing assembly for use with a firearm includes a hammer pivotably coupled to a hammer shaft. The hammer includes a hammer stop notch that at least partially engages a portion of a lever of a trigger assembly when the hammer is in a cocked position and a control curve section that engages a surface of the lever to retain the lever in an unlocked position as the hammer moves between the cocked position and a firing position. Additionally, the firing assembly includes a control element pivotably coupled to the hammer shaft and adjacent the hammer, wherein the control element includes a first control curve portion that at least partially adjoins the control curve section and wherein the hammer interacts with the control element to change a control curve region as the hammer moves between cocked position and the firing position.

  • Patent number: 7814698
Abstract: A connecting piece couplable to a rail of a weapon is described. An example connecting pieces includes a first retaining element including a first receiving region configured to engage a corresponding first counterface of the rail. The example connecting piece also includes a second retaining element including a second receiving region configured to engage a corresponding second counterface of the rail. In addition, the example connecting piece includes a guide slot running diagonally to a longitudinal direction of the rail via which the first retaining element and the second retaining elements are coupled.

  • Publication number: 20090229454
Abstract: Field adjustable gas bleed assemblies for use with firearms are described. An example field adjustable gas bleed assembly for use with a firearm having a barrel includes a gas cylinder that defines a pressure chamber to be fluidly coupled to a bore of a barrel, wherein the gas cylinder is substantially fixed relative to the barrel. Additionally, the example field adjustable gas bleed assembly includes a fluid control apparatus to control a flow rate of fluid between the pressure chamber and the barrel. The fluid control apparatus is adjustable between a first operation mode and a second operation mode that is different from the first operation mode. The fluid control apparatus includes a first borehole having a first cross-sectional area. The first borehole is associated with the first operation mode. Additionally, the fluid control apparatus includes a second borehole having a second cross-sectional area different from the first cross-sectional area.

  • Publication number: 20090188145
Abstract: Two-stage trigger apparatus for use with firearms are described herein. An example trigger apparatus described herein includes a trigger and a sear arm operatively coupled to the trigger. The sear arm detachably couples to a first catch of a hammer of the firearm. A disconnector is pivotally coupled relative to the sear arm and detachably couples to a second catch of the hammer. At least one trigger spring operatively couples to the sear arm to bias the sear arm to an initial position. The trigger pivots relative to the sear arm between a first travel stop and a second travel stop of the sear arm, where the first travel stop prevents the trigger from pivotally moving relative to the sear arm in a first direction and the second travel stop prevents the trigger from pivotally moving relative to the sear arm in a second direction opposite the first direction. The trigger pivots between the first travel stop and the second travel stop relative to the sear arm.

  • Publication number: 20090064556
Abstract: Slide retraction levers for use with firearms are described. In one example implementation, the slide retraction lever for use with a firearm includes a first handle and a second handle. The first and second handles are used to retract the slide retraction lever. Additionally, the first and second handles are positioned on opposite sides of the slide retraction lever. The slide retraction lever further includes a locking device that is associated with the first handle. Operating the first handle releases an engagement with the firearm. Additionally, the locking device is associated with the second handle. Operating the second handle releases the engagement with the firearm independent of the operation of the first handle.
