Abstract: The invention relates to the use of cyclodextrin complexes containing lipoic acid, said complexes consisting of at least one representative of the series of unsubstituted ?-cyclodextrin, ?-cyclodextrin and ?-cyclodextrin, and at least one representative of the series of racemic ?-lipoic acid, racemic dihydrolipoic acid and the derivatives thereof, for producing a food supplement, a functional food supplement, a clinical nutrition product and/or a cosmetic preparation in the non-medical field of application. Said complex, which contains at least 20 wt. % of the cyclodextrin component, preferably in food quality, can also contain water and reaction products or secondary reaction products from the complex production, especially ?-cyclodextrin being used.

Abstract: The invention is concerned with an arrangement for measuring the mobility of image points of a video image, particularly for the evaluation of the electrophoretic mobility of particles. The arrangement simultaneously evaluates an entire image contents of a plurality of image points without the necessity of subjectively preselecting individual image points.The digitilized image signal of the video image is logical combined with the line and column scanning signals of the video image in a logic matrix and the obtained signals are fed into a computer via a time storage. The scanning signals are derived from a pulse generator and from the image synchronizing and line synchronizing signals. The logic combination of the signals also includes a direction selection member for programming the evaluation direction of the image points.

Abstract: The invention is in concern of a method for measuring the electrophoretic mobility of particles in a liquid test sample in order to improve the precision of the electrophoretic measurement and to reduce in particular the operational expenditures in such a method.By use of considerably simple means a very precise time measurement of the mobility of particles is obtained free from any subjective influences with respect to the selection of the particles to be evaluated and to the time measurement. Accordingly, signals variable with respect to their frequency and visualized on the screen of a monitor are derived from out of video synchronization pulses, said signals are logically combined to the digitalized adjustable image scanning signals, improved in their signal-to-noise ratio.The output signals of this combination effect a counting operation dependent on the particle mobility.

Abstract: The invention is in concern of a method and a device for moving a liquid sample material in a measuring chamber, particularly for use in electrophoretic measurements. To permit precise measurements the remaining sample material is prevented from mixing with the sample material under test. The valves employed have to be closed in the course of the sample movement. This is realized in displacing the sample material by means of two pistons rigidly connected to each other and arranged in a by-pass of the measuring chamber.
