  • Patent number: 6547213
Abstract: A valve for controlling fluids is described, wherein a valve closing member (13) divides a low-pressure region (16) in the valve (1) from a high-pressure region (17), and a filling device (19) is provided to compensate for a leakage quantity from the low-pressure region (16) by withdrawal of hydraulic fluid from the high-pressure region (17). The filling device (19) is embodied in a valve body (9) with a conduitlike hollow chamber (18) in which a solid body (26) is disposed in such a way that a gap (28) is formed between the solid body (26) and the valve body (9). The material of the solid body (26) has a coefficient of thermal expansion that is so much greater than that of the material of the valve body (9) that with increasing temperature, a viscosity-dictated increase in the volumetric flow around the solid body (26) is at least partly limited (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 6530555
Abstract: A valve (1) for controlling liquids is proposed, having a piezoelectric unit (3) for actuating a valve member (2), which member is axially displaceable in a bore (8) of a valve body (9) and on one end has a valve closing member (13) that cooperates with at least one seat (14, 15), provided on the valve body (9), for opening and closing the valve (1). The valve closing member (13) divides a low-pressure region (16) having a system pressure (p_sys) from a high-pressure region (17). To compensate for a leakage quantity from the low-pressure region (16) by drawing hydraulic liquid from the high-pressure region (17), a filling device (26) is provided, which is embodied with a conduit (27) having a throttle bore (28). The diameter of the throttle bore is designed such that a volumetric flow that from the high-pressure region (17), which flow passes through the throttle bore (28), at a defined minimum high pressure (p_R_min) compensates for the leakage quantity from the low-pressure region (16) (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 6527198
Abstract: The fuel injection valve (16) has an injection valve member (24), by which at least one injection opening (26) is controlled. The motion of the injection valve member (24) is varied by a control valve (18) that has a control valve member (54) by which the pressure in a control pressure chamber (50) is controlled in that the control valve member controls a relief chamber (46) in a closing piston (42) that defines the control pressure chamber (50) and that by means of the pressure prevailing in the control pressure chamber (50) urges the injection valve member (24) in its closing direction. The control valve member (54) is displaceable via a hydraulic boost by a piezoelectric actuator (78), as a result of which the piezoelectric actuator opens or closes the relief chamber (46).

  • Publication number: 20030038258
Abstract: A valve for controlling fluids is provided, having a valve member (3) axially movable in a valve body (5), having a hydraulic chamber (12) acting as a hydraulic booster, and having a filling device (15) to compensate for leakage losses, which device communicates with a high-pressure region (14) and a lowpressure region (13) of the valve and has a throttle body (18). According to the invention, it is provided that the throttle body is movable, as a function of a pressure prevailing in the lowpressure region (13), such that filling of the hydraulic chamber (12) with fluid takes place (FIG. 1).

  • Publication number: 20030034466
Abstract: A valve for regulating fluids includes a piezo-electric actor unit (9) for operating a valve member assembly. The valve member assembly has at least one first piston (13) guided in a valve body (10) and a second piston (14). A hydraulic chamber, acting as a hydraulic converter, is disposed between the first and second pistons (13, 14). The second piston operates a valve-closing member (15) disposed on an end facing away from the hydraulic chamber (16). The valve closing member (15) cooperates with at least one valve seat (17) formed on the valve body (10) and in a closed position, separates a system pressure region (18) of the valve (1) from a high pressure region (5). The second piston (14) is surrounded by and supported by an approximately casing-type spacer (22) on the valve body (10).

  • Publication number: 20020134853
Abstract: An injection device for a fuel reservoir injection system is proposed, having an injection nozzle (16), which protrudes into a combustion chamber and can be supplied with fuel from a high-pressure fuel distributor (10) by means of a high-pressure fuel supply path (14, 52, 44, 40), and having a nozzle needle (30), which opens and closes this injection nozzle (16) as a function of the pressure in a control chamber (58). In order to introduce fuel into the control chamber, an inlet conduit (62), which branches from the fuel supply path, feeds into this control chamber (58) and an outlet path (66, 78), which leads from this control chamber (58), permits fuel to flow out of the control chamber.
