  • Publication number: 20110005874
Abstract: The invention relates to a braking system (16) for a vehicle (10), particularly a commercial vehicle, having an operating brake device for providing an operating brake function for braking the vehicle, and a parking brake device (92) for providing a parking brake function independently of the operating brake system. In order to improve the functionality of the braking system in case of a fault, the vehicle can be braked automatically by means of the other braking device if one of the two braking devices partially or completely fails. The invention further relates to a brake pedal device for such a braking system.

  • Publication number: 20100237690
Abstract: The invention relates to an electropneumatic parking brake modulator for controlling a parking brake mode of brakes of at least one trailer in a vehicle/trailer combination that consists of a towing vehicle and the trailer. The parking brake, modulator (1) comprises a valve element (12) for airing and bleeding the spring brake cylinders of the brakes of the trailer. The parking brake modulator (1) further comprises at least one compressed air reservoir inlet (7, 8) for airing at least one compressed air line (10) in the parking brake modulator (1) with compressed air from a compressed air reservoir (3, 4) of the towing vehicle and at least one compressed air reservoir outlet (14) at which a reservoir pressure can be made available for the brakes of the trailer. The parking brake modulator (1) finally comprises at least one compressed air control outlet (17) at which a control pressure can be made available for the brakes of the trailer.

  • Publication number: 20090189438
Abstract: A brake system for a vehicle includes brake cylinders operated by pressurized fluid for actuation of brakes by means of pressurized fluid on at least one first axle of the vehicle. The brakes on at least one other, second, axle can be actuated exclusively electromechanically in response to an electrical braking request signal. The pressure of the pressurized fluid can be modulated indirectly or directly and the electrical braking request signal can be generated indirectly or directly in response to actuation of a brake pedal of a brake pedal device. A service brake function is provided by means of hybrid use of the brakes on the first axle(s) together with the brakes on the second axle(s). The brake cylinders operated by pressurized fluid are pneumatically operated brake cylinders. The pressure modulated by the brake pedal device is a pneumatic pressure, and the pressurized fluid is compressed air.

  • Publication number: 20070018804
Abstract: The invention relates to a transponder which is mounted in a tire. The transponder includes at least a transponder chip and a transponder antenna and is embedded in a substrate. The substrate is connected to an inner side of the tire by a connecting structure. In order to provide a transponder with the longest possible service life, the substrate is decoupled from the inner side of the tire via a connecting structure in the form of a soft or gliding support in such a manner that no or only minimum mechanical stresses are transmitted to the substrate. The connecting structure is arranged between the substrate and the inner side of the tire.

  • Patent number: 7151495
Abstract: A transponder to be fitted in or on a surface of an article which is substantially formed of a rubber product, in particular a transponder to be fitted in a tire, has a dipole antenna. The antenna length Lair, wherein air is exclusively present as the transmission medium, is calculated with the equation Lair=0.5×c/f, wherein c is the speed of light and f is the transmission frequency. In order to achieve a long transmission range, the transponder in the rubber product has an antenna length Lkp between 0.45×Lair and 0.90×Lair, preferably substantially between 0.61×Lair and 0.71×Lair.

  • Patent number: 6836253
Abstract: The invention is directed to a transmitting and/or receiving unit for building into an elastic structure. The transmitting and receiving unit includes one or more electronic circuits or circuit elements and, if needed, sensors and/or signal elements assigned thereto. The transmitting and/or receiving unit has one or several antennas connected to the electronic circuit. The antenna includes one or several filaments which are so arranged in the surface or in space that the main directions of the stresses and forces, which occur within the surrounding elastic structure/matrix, essentially intersect or cross the filament axes.
