  • Publication number: 20170092202
Abstract: A display device includes a timing controller, a data driving IC, and a display unit. The timing controller generates a data control signal and a data image signal based on an external input signal. The data driving IC generates an output image signal based on the data control signal and the data image signal, and applies a data voltage corresponding to the output image signal to n data lines. The display unit connects to the n data lines, and displays an image corresponding to the data voltage. The data driving IC includes a path selector including m path selecting input lines and n path selecting output lines. The data driving IC transmits the output image signal to the path selector through n path selecting input lines selected from among the m path selecting input lines. N is a positive number, and m is an integer greater than n.

  • Patent number: 8305336
Abstract: A light source apparatus includes a light source module, a light sensor, a data converter, a light source controller and a light source driver. The light source module includes a light source. The light sensor generates sensing data by sensing the amount of light generated from the light source. The data converter converts the sensing data which exceeds a maximum value of reference data of a control range into converted sensing data within the control range. The light source controller generates a control signal for controlling the amount of light from the light source based upon the sensing data corresponding to no more than the maximum value or based upon the converted sensing data. The light source driver drives the light source by providing the light source with a driving signal based upon the control signal.

  • Publication number: 20070085801
Abstract: In a flat panel display, a display panel has a data line, a gate line and a pixel electrically connected to the data line and the gate line, and a timing controller outputs control signals and an image data signal. A data driver drives the data line in response to a portion of the control signals and the image data signal, and a gate driver drives the gate line in response to a different portion of the control signals. A control circuit controls the data driver such that the data line is maintained in a reset state for a predetermined time after a power-on is initiated. Thus, the flat panel display may prevent the display of the error-images on the liquid crystal panel.

  • Patent number: 6418536
Abstract: A portable computer is provided with a sensing device which responds to absence of the computer user so that the computer system instantly goes into a power saving function that cuts off power directed to a back-light unit of the LCD display panel. The sensing device includes a sensor for sensing a computer user within the predetermined sensing range, this sensor being mounted in the housing of the flat panel display with facing the computer user, to produce a signal representative of absence of the user within the range; and a controller in response to the output signal of said sensor to produce a control signal which allows the supply power directed to the flat panel display to be interrupted. The sensing signal consists of ultrasonic wave or infrared rays. The user sensing device of the portable computer continuously monitors the computer user. If the user has left the computer, the computer system immediately goes into the power saving function that turns off the back-light unit of the LCD display panel.
