  • Patent number: 10609071
Abstract: Example embodiments relate to preventing MAC spoofing. In this manner, the embodiments disclosed herein enable sending, from a requesting mobile device, a generic advertisement service (GAS) message on a channel. Responsive to sending the GAS message, a first GAS response message and a second GAS response message may be received on the channel within a predetermined time period after sending the GAS message on the channel. A first CSI fingerprint from the first GAS response message may be compared to a stored CSI fingerprint. A second CSI fingerprint from the second GAS response message may also be compared to the stored CSI fingerprint. Responsive to the first CSI fingerprint being a closer match to the stored CSI fingerprint than the second CSI fingerprint, the requesting mobile device may be connected to an access point associated with first GAS response message.

  • Patent number: 10506507
Abstract: An apparatus includes a display, a wireless communication device, an input device, and a processor. The processor to provide a first connection plan and a second connection plan via the display to a user. The first connection plan identifies a first set of rules of wireless access point selection and the second connection plan identifies a second set of rules for wireless access point selection. The processor also to receive a selection corresponding one of the first connection plan and the second connection plan from the user via the input device and to select one of a first wireless access point and a second wireless access point based on first network performance data of the first wireless access point, second network performance data of the second wireless access point, and the selection. The processor further to establish a network connection with the selected wireless access point via the wireless communication device.

  • Patent number: 10264013
Abstract: Systems, methods, and machine-readable and executable instructions are provided for preventing a memory attack to a wireless access point (AP). Preventing a memory attack to a wireless access point can include receiving, with a wireless AP, a generic advertisement service (GAS) initial request from a querying station and transmitting, with the wireless AP, a GAS initial response to the querying station without querying an advertisement server based on the GAS initial request.

  • Patent number: 10257759
Abstract: Load balancing among wireless access points (APs) can include a plurality of wireless APs, and a transition-in transition-out (TITO) engine instructing a client to dissociate from a first wireless AP selected from the plurality of wireless APs and associate with a second wireless AP selected from the plurality of wireless APs.

  • Patent number: 10021591
Abstract: A wireless access point can identify a group of service providers that can provide access for respective subscriber devices. The wireless access point can periodically monitor its network traffic load. In response to determining that the amount of the network traffic load is above a threshold amount, the wireless access point selects one or more service providers from the group, and impedes use of each of the selected one or more service providers from the wireless access point by one or more additional subscriber devices that have not yet connected to the wireless access point.

  • Publication number: 20170142640
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an ADV_server wherein the ADV server comprises a storage to store a set of root-zone ANQP elements; and a processor configured to: receive a request for an ANQP element from an AP agent; search the storage for the requested ANQP element; and send the requested ANQP element to the AP agent if the requested ANQP element is found in the storage; wherein the set of root-zone ANQP elements can be inherited by the AP agent as a child node of the ADV_server.
