  • Patent number: 10674222
Abstract: In various embodiments, a subtitle application generates a subtitle list for a trailer. In operation, the subtitle application performs matching operation(s) between trailer audio associated with a trailer and source audio associated with an audiovisual program. The subtitle application then maps a subtitle associated with the source audio from a source timeline associated with the source audio to a trailer timeline associated with the trailer audio to generate a mapped subtitle. Subsequently, the subtitle application generates a trailer subtitle list based on the mapped subtitle and at least one additional mapped subtitle. Because the subtitle application generates the trailer subtitle list based on audio comparisons, the subtitle application ensures that the proper subtitles are included in the trailer subtitle list without requiring a subtitler to view the trailer.

  • Publication number: 20200031807
Abstract: Disclosed are a small-molecule AURKB inhibitor and applications thereof. The invention is directed to a diindolylmethane compound of formula (I) or a stereoisomer, a tautomer, a solvate, a prodrug, a N-oxide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The invention also provides an application of the small-molecule inhibitor and a modified derivative thereof (such as a stereoisomer, a tautomer, a solvate, a prodrug, an N-oxide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt) in the preparation of an antitumor drug. The small-molecule AURKB inhibitor identified herein is slightly toxic to those normal cells and can significantly inhibit the expression of a downstream gene E2F2 mediated in the phosphorylation of an AURKB substrate histone H3S10. Therefore, the small-molecule inhibitor, as an anti-tumor drug, can effectively inhibit the proliferation of various tumor cells and induce the apoptosis of tumor cells.

  • Publication number: 20190215421
Abstract: In various embodiments, a subtitle timing application detects timing errors between subtitles and shot changes. In operation, the subtitle timing application determines that a temporal edge associated with a subtitle does not satisfy a timing guideline based on a shot change. The shot change occurs within a sequence of frames of an audiovisual program. The subtitle timing application then determines a new temporal edge that satisfies the timing guideline relative to the shot change. Subsequently, the subtitle timing application causes a modification to a temporal location of the subtitle within the sequence of frames based on the new temporal edge. Advantageously, the modification to the subtitle improves a quality of a viewing experience for a viewer. Notably, by automatically detecting timing errors, the subtitle timing application facilitates proper and efficient re-scheduling of subtitles that are not optimally timed with shot changes.

  • Patent number: 10301150
Abstract: A shock-absorbing and energy-collecting roller cage shoe including a base, a main energy-collecting module, two auxiliary energy-collecting modules, and a roller is provided. The base is provided with three containing spaces for containing the main energy-collecting module and the two auxiliary energy-collecting modules. In the three containing spaces, the main energy-collecting module and the two auxiliary energy-collecting modules are respectively connected fixedly to the base through wire rope shock absorbers, the main energy-collecting module and the two auxiliary energy-collecting modules are respectively pressed on the left side, the upper side and the lower side of the roller, and the right side of the roller is pressed on a cage guide. The energy-collecting modules collect vibrational energy generated by vibration in the operation process of a lifting container, and convert the vibrational energy into collectable piezoelectric energy.

  • Publication number: 20180251596
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of electrospinning poly(glycerol sebacate) (PGS) which allow stable PGS fibers and fibrous PGS constructs, scaffolds and grafts to be formed. In one example, a disclosed method includes generating PGS fibers by blending PGS prepolymer with a heat resistant synthetic carrier polymer, wherein the blend is electrospun into micro- or nano-fibers, and the PGS prepolymer is cross-linked into PGS with heat without using chemical cross-linkers. In another example, a disclosed method includes electrospinning a PGS and gelatin blend, wherein the PGS and gelatin composition are cross-linked by heat curing without using chemical cross-linkers. In another example, the method includes preparing an electrospinning precursor solution comprising blending PGS prepolymer with poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) and a chemical cross-linker; electrospinning the prepared blend; and exposing the electrospun blend to an organic solvent to remove the PLGA.

  • Patent number: 10015588
Abstract: Techniques, described herein, may enable a computing device (e.g., a set-top-box, a user equipment (UE), etc.) with an array of sensors (e.g., microphones, antennas, etc.) to engage in beamforming in a manner that optimizes the signal strength of the target signal. For example, the computing device may create an optimized beam pattern by applying a pre-selected band width to a steering direction of the target signal. The beam width may include steering vectors at equal, angular distances from the steering direction, enabling steep transition slopes to be applied to the optimized beam pattern. In some implementations, the beam width and transition slopes may be standardized, such that the optimized beam pattern for any signal may be uniform, regardless of variables such as frequency and time.
