  • Patent number: 5527118
Abstract: An improved wire dot print head for increased integrated density is provided. The wire dot print head includes a frame. A plurality of drive coils are mounted within the frame. A lever for driving print wires has a print wire mounted at one end and its other end formed as a hook to act as a rotation support member. When an excitement current flows through the coil, the lever is caused to move so that the print wires rotate about the rotation support member causing the print wires to strike a platen. The wires guided by guide holes which form a circular array at one armature end, and a row or rows at the printing end.

A lever for driving print wires has a print wire mounted at one end and its other end formed as a hook to act as a rotation support member. A yoke has salients formed thereon equal in number to that of the levers disposed on its end surface. The rotation support member of each lever is retained with a recess formed within a respective yoke and an end surface of the frame and is affixed in place by a retainer spring. When an excitement current flows through the coil, the lever is caused to move so that the print wires rotate about the rotation support member causing the print wires to strike a platen.

  • Patent number: 5236266
Abstract: A print wire driving device for a wire dot printer includes a plate like member having slots therein. The slots are arranged opposite the cores of a magnetic core block. The cores are arranged in a circle and project from the core block. The slots extend radially from the center of the plate like member. A magnetic driving member is received in each slot so that it pivots therein when acted upon by the magnetic field of a respective magnetic core. A print wire is coupled to each magnetic driving member. Each print wire is guided by a wire guide having a wire nose which receives at its end a wire guide member from which the ends of the print wires extend to print. The wire guide includes structure for properly aligning two stacks of magnetic actuators.

  • Patent number: 5048985
Abstract: A wire dot printer using a plurality of print wires to print on a printing medium. The printer includes a print head unit, a guide member defining a wire nose mounted on one end of the print head unit, and a wire guide member mounted proximate one end of the guide member and including a plurality of openings for guiding the print wires. A supporting member is mounted on the guide member on the one end thereof and has a first surface for coupling the supporting member to a carriage. The supporting member has an end surface having an opening therein corresponding in shape to that of the end of the guide member supporting the wire guide member. The wire guide member is positioned and supported in the opening in the supporting member. The guide member also includes a plurality of spaced wire guide plates which include a plurality of holes aligned therein through which the print wires extend for guiding the print wires.
