  • Patent number: 9858488
Abstract: An image processing device is disclosed that is able to accurately recognize objects at a close distance. The image processing device includes a camera unit, and an image processing unit. The camera unit includes a lens, a focusing unit and an image pick-up unit. The focusing unit drives the lens to sequentially change the focusing distance of the camera unit to perform a focus-sweep operation, so that clear images of objects at different positions in an optical axis of the lens are sequentially formed on the image pick-up unit. The image processing unit receives the plurality of images obtained by the image pick-up unit in the focus-sweep operation, identifies objects with clear images formed in the plurality of images, and produces an object distribution view according to the focusing distances used when picking up the plurality of image to show a position distribution of the identified objects.

  • Patent number: 6167346
Abstract: In a navigation system, a controller includes a time selecting circuit for selecting times output from a timepiece in response to a signal representing a time interval from an operation unit, a satellite navigation position detecting circuit for receiving a radio wave at the times selected by the time selecting circuit from a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver, and for determining the position of a mobile body on the basis of the radio wave, and an autonomous navigation position detecting circuit for receiving the output of both a distance sensor and an azimuth sensor which are synchronous to the times selected, for determining a distance and an azimuth based on the outputs of the distance and azimuth sensors, for determining a track of movement of the mobile body based on the distance and azimuth, and for adding the track to the start point of the mobile body to thereby produce the current position of the mobile body.

  • Patent number: 6112187
Abstract: An encryption communication system including a host and a data terminal card device is disclosed. The host includes a start information generation program circuit for generating password generation start information which has not been used in the past. When the data terminal card device is connected to the host for communication, a password generation program circuit included in the card device generates a password in accordance with the start information received from the host. The card device sends the generated password to the host for certification. If the received password is coincident with a password generated in the host, the host certifies the received password and allows communication to be held. An encryption circuit also included in the card device controls a plurality of different encryption programs in a sophisticated way so as to execute time-varying irregular control, thereby generating encrypted data.

  • Patent number: 5890073
Abstract: A mobile terminal communicable with a public switched network through a stationary radio station over a radio channel includes a telephone network effecting audible, telephonic conversation over the radio channel to the radio station. The mobile terminal may be set to the condition in which it is not allowed to effect the telephonic conversation to the radio station. The mobile terminal disables the telephone speech circuit thereof while it is in the condition. When the mobile terminal receives a call from the public switched network, it transmits to the public switched network the status signal representing that it is in the condition. In response to the status signal, a message meant to the mobile terminal is transmitted through the public switched network over the radio channel to the mobile terminal, and is displayed visually on the display and/or stored in the memory of the mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 5568654
Abstract: In a mobile radio telecommunications system having a switching unit, a control station connected to the switching unit, a plurality of base stations connected to the switching unit, and a plurality of mobile stations connected to the base stations by radio channels, the base stations are each situated at private property, and each includes a controller for determining a direction in which a mobile stations is moving. The controller receives via the control station and switching unit information representative of the levels at which the individual base stations have received a radio wave from a mobile station, compares the received levels, determines, based on the result of comparison, that one of the base stations having the highest received level currently covers the mobile station, and determines a direction in which the mobile station is moving on the basis of a transition of the highest received level.

  • Patent number: 4995109
Abstract: A telecommunications system allows data communications between a data center and a non-telephone terminal via a telephone switching network. A terminal adapter connected to a first telephone line of the network is also connected to the non-telephone terminal and a telephone terminal. A center adapter is connected between the data center and a second telephone line. The center adapter originates a first call destined to the terminal adapter and releases it upon detecting the call terminating to the terminal adapter. The center adapter then originates a second call destined to the same terminal adapter. The center adapter detects the successive terminations of the two calls to connect the telephone line to the non-telephone terminal to allow data transmission between the data center and the non-telephone terminal.
