  • Patent number: 5638207
Abstract: An optical system is provided in which flare is prevented and, when the light reflected from a reflection component is modulated by a photoelastic phenomenon, the effect of the modulation on the measurement of the intensity of the reflected light can be eliminated, and, further, a flying height tester for a magnetic head is provided using such optical system. A multilambda plate is provided in the flare-prevention optical system for allowing the light reaching a reflection component and the light reflected from the reflection component to pass, and for allowing the phase difference between the ordinary ray and the extraordinary ray to vary by 2.pi. or more depending on the wavelength of light. Since the light passed through the multilambda plate only varies in the peak position and the peak height varies little even if the light has experienced modulation, no error occurs in the spectrum intensity of the light. A depolarizer may be substituted for the multilambda plate.

  • Patent number: 5241852
Abstract: An apparatus for testing the waterproofness of a casing having divided casing elements which are connected to each other at opposite end surfaces thereof, includes a dummy casing made from liquid rubber material which has been cured, after a connecting end surface of one of the divided casing elements has been inserted therein, to form a recessed groove corresponding to the connecting end surface. A connecting end surface of one of the divided casing elements is then depressed against the recessed groove of the dummy casing to form a sealed assembly. The waterproofness of the casing can then be determined by determining the waterproofness of the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4988456
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing a W/O/W type multiple emulsion using a polyglycerol polyricinolate (i.e. a polyglycerol ester of a polycondensed fatty acid of caster oil). The use of the polyglycerol polyricinolate is effective in increasing the rate of formation of the W/O/W type multiple emulsion remarkably and giving a W/O/W type multiple emulsion which is stable over a long period of time. The W/O/W type multiple emulsion has also an excellent heat stability and is useful for the production of medicines and cosmetics.

  • Patent number: 4817032
Abstract: In an analysis processor which utilizes a parameter table for setting a processing condition and analyzes data in accordance with the content of table, a process for registering/correcting the parameter table is standarized for various analysis processing programs so that each of the analysis processing programs is divided into an analysis processing procedure instruction section and a parameter table section. Thus, a plurality of different analysis process can be performed in one analysis processor. Any table in the analysis processing programs may be readily referred to by an instruction through a keyboard of the analysis processor and may be registered and corrected. Thus, a user can alter the analysis processing program as he/she desires.

  • Patent number: 4632840
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparation of dressings comprising W/O/W type multiple emulsions. Dressings comprising a quite stable W/O/W type multiple emulsions can be obtained by using monoerucin, dierucin, or polyglycerol polycondensed ricinoleic acid ester as the emulsifier. A quite fine W/O/W type emulsion can also be obtained, since an O/W emulsion is subjected to a phase inversion to form a W/O emulsion in the first place.

  • Patent number: 4626443
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing dressings comprising W/O/W type multiple emulsions. A W/O/W type emulsion can be obtained by phase inversion from W/O type emulsion by adding an aqueous phase to an oil phase containing monoerucin, dierucin, or polyglycerol polycondensed ricinoleic acid ester as the emulsifier under agitating. • Patent number: 4590086
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of a water-in-oil-in-water (W/O/W) type multiple emulsion for foods, which is very fine and exhibits excellent stability. A stable W/O/W type multiple emulsion is obtained by using a polyglycerol polyricinoleate to obtain a fine W/O emulsion in a primary emulsification, and adding a water phase containing an emulsifier to the resulting W/O emulsion and mixing by agitating in a secondary emulsification.

  • Patent number: 4062539
Abstract: The control system is provided with a detector that detects whether the ripper is operated in a piercing operating mode or a digging operating mode. In the piercing operating mode the angle of the shank is adjusted to a preset piercing angle, while in the digging operating mode the shank angle is adjusted to a preset digging angle thereby effecting optimum piercing and digging operations. Limit switches for detecting upper and lower limit positions of the shank are provided for raising and lowering the shank between these limit positions while adjusting the shank angle. Further an overload detector is provided for raising the shank when its load exceeds a predetermined load and lowering the shank when the load decreases below it. A manual preference control device also provided for enabling manual control during automatic control.

  • Patent number: 4031964
Abstract: An automatic control system for a ripper used on a construction equipment in which a load detector is provided on the ripper for detecting load acting on the ripper shank and lift cylinders are actuated to automatically raise the shank when overload is applied to the shank during ripping operation. The ripper is also provided with a depth detector for detecting upper and lower limit positions of the shank and the vertical movement of the shank can be limited between the upper and lower limits. When no overload is applied, the shank is maintained at the lower limit position to rip the ground at a predetermined penetration depth.
