  • Patent number: 9868238
Abstract: A moldable material shaping system for shaping a moldable material, the system comprising a thermal transfer mold having an internal cavity configured to receive a moldable material, the internal cavity further comprising an internal mold shape, a thermally controlled heat source subsystem configured to heat the thermal transfer mold and the moldable material received in the thermal transfer mold thereby reshaping the moldable material to a deformed moldable material shape conforming to the internal mold shape. Some embodiments further comprise a cooling source subsystem configured to cool the thermal transfer mold and stabilize the moldable material inside the thermal transfer mold to maintain the deformed moldable material shape. Methods of molding a moldable material are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9770228
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a medical device and methods for collecting a tissue sample from a patient's body. The device may include a first tube defining a lumen and an aperture at a distal end of the first tube. A second tube extends within the lumen of the first tube and defines a lumen and slots, where at least some of the slots have sharp edges configured to shear tissue. The second tube is movable relative to the first tube such that the sharp edges cut a plurality of samples from tissue disposed within the aperture.

  • Publication number: 20170231475
Abstract: Several embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to medical visualization systems that comprise combinations of disposable and resuable components, such as catheters, functional handles, hubs, optical devices, etc. Other embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to features and aspects of an in-vivo visualization system that comprises an endoscope having a working channel through which a catheter having viewing capabilities is routed. the catheter may obtain viewing capabilities by being constructed as a vision catheter or by having a fiberscope or other viewing device selectively routed through one of its channels. The catheter is preferably of the steerable type so that the distal end of the catheter may be steered from its proximal end as it is advanced with the body. A suitable use for the in-vivo visualization system includes but is not limited to diagnosis and/or treatment of the duodenum, and particularly the biliary tree.
