  • Patent number: 11330654
Abstract: A communications apparatus includes a radio transceiver transmitting or receiving wireless signals in a wireless network and a processor. The processor is configured to perform operations comprising: storing cell information of a Long Term Evolution (LTE) cell supporting Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (EUTRA)-New Radio (NR) Dual Connectivity (EN-DC); and performing a mobility procedure to camp on the LTE cell according to the stored cell information of the LTE cell supporting EN-DC.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: May 10, 2022
    Assignee: MEDIATEK INC.
    Inventors: Tsung-Wei Tu, Yen-Chih Yang
  • Patent number: 11129239
Abstract: The wireless communication device includes one or more wireless transceivers and a controller. The one or more wireless transceivers detect(s) one or more first frequency bands of one or more cellular networks, and detect(s) one or more second frequency bands of one or more non-cellular networks. The controller selects one of the first frequency bands and one of the second frequency bands, which do not overlap, and assigns the selected first frequency band to one of the wireless transceivers, thereby enabling one of the wireless transceivers to camp on a cell on the selected first frequency band. Also, the controller assigns the selected second frequency band to one of the wireless transceivers, thereby enabling one of the wireless transceivers to connect to one of the non-cellular networks on the selected second frequency band.

  • Publication number: 20200053642
Abstract: Examples pertaining to flexible radio access technology (RAT) selection for 5th Generation (5G) mobile communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node of a wireless network, information related to a RAT preference with respect to RAT selection by the UE. Based at least in part on the received information, the UE may perform a RAT or Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) selection procedure. Alternatively, or additionally, the UE may receive, from the network node, information related to ability of one or more neighbor network nodes of one or more RATs in a region. Based at least in part on the received information, the UE may select one of the one or more RATs or one of the one or more neighbor network nodes.

  • Patent number: 9585065
Abstract: A method for inter-radio access technology (inter-RAT) performance enhancement in a mobile communications device is provided. First, a first RAT is camped on to perform a first service. Thereafter, it is moved/fallen back to a second RAT from the first RAT to perform a second service. Cell information of the first RAT is then measured and collected during the performance of the second service in the second RAT. A first cell to return to the first RAT is determined according to the collected cell information of the first RAT after a call connection of the second RAT is released.
