The microwave oven includes a control unit which controls an entire cooking operation of the microwave oven, and a temperature-measuring device having a variable-length wire which is electrically connected to the control unit at its one end. The temperature measuring device further includes a temperature sensing probe connected to the other end of the variable-length wire, and a rotating member which winds the variable-length wire therearound. The rotating member is electrically connected to the control unit.

Abstract: A composite cooking apparatus, which may perform a heating operation using a plane heater and an induction heating operation using high frequency current together. A composite cooking apparatus of the present invention includes a plane heater and an induction heater installed below a heat resistant glass plate, as a composite heat source. The present invention may automatically determine material of a cooking container, and perform heating and cooking using a heat source suitable for the material of the cooking container. Further, if a rapid cooking mode is set, cooking is performed at high output power using both the two heat sources, thus shortening a cooking time.

Abstract: A combination hood and microwave oven, in which the construction of a drive circuit relating to an exhaust device is simplified, reducing its manufacturing cost, and in which the number of user's manipulations required to operate the exhaust device is reduced, providing convenience of use to the user. The combination hood and microwave oven includes a variable suction hole whose suction area is variable, a variable suction hole motor allowing a suction area of the variable suction hole to vary, an exhaust motor allowing air sucked through the variable suction hole to be discharged outside the combination hood and microwave oven, an exhaust motor drive unit controlling a rotational speed of the exhaust motor, and a variable suction hole adjusting unit that controls the variable suction hole motor to allow a suction area of the variable suction hole to vary according to the rotational speed of the exhaust motor.

Abstract: A smoke guiding apparatus of a wall-mounted microwave oven. A driving circuit of the smoke guiding apparatus includes limit switches which are turned on or off according to a moving position of a guide plate of the smoke guiding apparatus, a relay coil which is supplied with power in response to an exhaust motor of the microwave oven being operated, and a plurality of relay switches which are turned on or off by the supply of power to the relay coil. The driving circuit is implemented without using a conventional microcomputer. Accordingly, the entire manufacturing cost of the microwave oven is reduced. The instant smoke guiding apparatus can be applied to mechanical microwave ovens which are not provided with microcomputers. Furthermore, the driving circuit can drive a smoke guiding apparatus having an AC feed motor, as well as a DC feed motor, thus enabling the AC feed motor to be applied to the smoke guiding apparatus.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a management and link structure of a flash memory. The flash memory is divided into several different types of data access blocks, such as general data blocks, spare blocks, link-table block, and new blocks. A simple data link structure is provided, and a management and calculating method for spare blocks saves time to search and write data effectively and prolongs the service life of the flash memory.

Since the guide plate slides and is in contact with the brushes containing the detergent, the guide plate is always maintained in a clean condition. That is, the cleaning operation of the guide plate is automatically performed in response to a moving operation of the guide plate.

The guide device includes a plurality of guide pieces with gaps therebetween so as to bend the guide device in response to the guide device being pulled out of an oven body of the microwave oven. The guide pieces are connected to each other by corresponding link units. Each of the link units includes a pair of hinge pins fixed to the adjacent guide pieces, and a link connected to the adjacent hinge pins. Where the guide device is extended forwarded from the oven body, a front end of the guide device is bent forward and downward. Accordingly, an exhausting efficiently of the microwave oven is improved.

The rollers are mounted on elements that can be raised and lowered, whereby the turntable is raised and lowered while being rotated. A drive mechanism which raises and lowers the rollers is reversible whereby the turntable is rotated in a first direction while being raised, and in a second direction while being lowered. Position detectors sense when the turntable has reached maximum upper and lower positions for reversing the drive mechanism.

Abstract: A microwave oven includes a cooking chamber and an electronic component compartment separated from one another by a partition wall. Air inlet holes are formed in an upper portion of the partition wall, and air outlet holes are formed in another wall of the cooking chamber to enable air to be circulated through the cooking chamber by a fan disposed in the electrical component compartment. First drain holes are formed in a lower portion of the partition wall diagonally opposite the air inlet holes to enable condensed moisture formed in the cooking chamber to drain into the electrical component compartment. That moisture exits the electrical component chamber through second drain holes formed in the floor of the electrical component compartment. A barrier is disposed in the electrical component compartment to surround the first and second drain holes, thereby preventing moisture from reaching any of the electrical components.
