Publication number: 20220222594Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for facilitating analysis of attribution models. In embodiments described herein, an indication to compare a set of attribution models is received. For each attribution model, a lift score is determined that indicates an extent of improvement as compared to a baseline attribution model. The lift score can be generated based at least on a divergence between a weighted-positive path distribution and a negative path distribution determined using a sign correction term and/or on a divergence between a weighted-positive path distribution and a reference distribution, which reflects the deviation between positive and negative paths. The weighted-positive path distribution reflects attribution scores, generated via the corresponding attribution model, applied as weights to a positive event paths and used to produce a distribution.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 12, 2021Publication date: July 14, 2022Inventors: James William SNYDER, JR., Sai Kumar ARAVA, Yiwen SUN, Zhenyu YAN

Patent number: 10956930Abstract: Dynamic Hierarchical Empirical Bayes techniques and systems are described that are implemented to control output of digital content. In one example, a system identifies splitting variables included in data. An amount of loss is then determined for each of the identified splitting variables by the system using a loss function. Based on the determined amounts of loss, the system selects at least one splitting variable from the plurality of splitting variables that are to be used to partition data in a respective node, e.g., a parent node to form a plurality of child nodes. The system, for instance, may select the splitting variable that minimizes the cost, i.e., has the lowest amount of cost. The selected splitting variable is then employed by the system to generate at least one hierarchical level of the hierarchical structure of the statistical model by partitioning data from the parent node into respective child nodes.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2018Date of Patent: March 23, 2021Assignee: Adobe Inc.Inventors: Yuan Yuan, Zhenyu Yan, Yiwen Sun, Xiaojing Dong, Chen Dong, Abhishek Pani

Publication number: 20190034825Abstract: Estimating and applying effective regression techniques for datasets. The system first applies each of multiple regression techniques to each of multiple reference datasets, and determines a corresponding machine-learning metric for each regression techniques applied to each reference datasets. For each reference datasets, the system uses the determined machine-learning metric to estimate one or more effective regression techniques for execution of the corresponding reference datasets and records the estimated optimal regression techniques and the corresponding reference dataset. A user dataset is compared to at least some of the reference datasets to identify a reference dataset that has an acceptably similar probability distribution to the user dataset. At least one of the optimal regression techniques corresponding to the found reference dataset is retrieved and applied to the user dataset.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2017Publication date: January 31, 2019Inventors: Wee Hyong TOK, Yiwen SUN, Borna VUKOREPA

Patent number: 10135918Abstract: Techniques for assigning entities to data centers are provided. In one technique, usage data associated with a particular entity that is assigned to a first data center is generated. The usage data indicates activity of multiple users relative to the particular entity. It is determined, based on the usage data, whether the particular entity is to be assigned to another data center. If so, then the particular entity is assigned to a second data center.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2016Date of Patent: November 20, 2018Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Yiwen Sun, Hao Liu, Rongsheng Liang, Jianhong Fang, Shangcheng Ying, Hailin Wu

Patent number: 10131561Abstract: Water, for example produced water from a steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) or cyclic steam stimulation (CSS) heavy oil recovery operation, is treated, for example to recover water re-use in creating steam. The produced water is concentrated, for example in one or more thermal treatment devices such as an evaporator and a crystallizer. A solvent and a compound or solution comprising multivalent cations is added to the concentrate. Solids precipitate and are separated from the concentrate. The solvent may be recovered for re-use in treating more concentrate.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2013Date of Patent: November 20, 2018Assignee: BL Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Jiyang Xia, Hai Yang, Wenqing Peng, Yiwen Sun, Chunjie Liu

Patent number: 10132145Abstract: Produced water, for example from a steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) or cyclic steam stimulation (CSS) heavy oil recovery operation, is treated to recover water that is re-used to create steam. The produced water is treated in one or more thermal treatment devices such as an evaporator and a crystallizer. The thermal treatment produces a slurry comprising dispersed or dissolved salts and organic compounds. A water-miscible solvent for one or more of the organic compounds, for example methanol, is added to the slurry. The solids precipitate and are separated from the slurry. The solvent may be recovered for re-use in treating more slurry.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2013Date of Patent: November 20, 2018Assignee: BL Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Jiyang Xia, Wenqing Peng, Hai Yang, Chunjie Liu, Chang Wei, Wei Cai, Yiwen Sun

Publication number: 20180139273Abstract: In some embodiments, the disclosed subject matter involves an entity routing service to route user requests for an application service to a particular data center based on the user's entity status. The user's entity status is defined by at least the application service requested, and may include the user's organization, geographic area and other criteria. The routing may be effected at the frontend application server level rather than at the backend. Other embodiments are described and claimed.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2016Publication date: May 17, 2018Inventors: Qi Liu, Joseph Florencio, Timothy Jack Showalter, Alan Choi, Rongsheng Liang, Hailin Wu, Hao Liu, Jianhong Fang, Xiao Bao, Mihir Gandhi, Yiwen Sun
