  • Patent number: 5774454
Abstract: The invention relates to UPC/NPC method for guaranteeing the quality of service in an asynchronous transfer mode networks. The method comprises a first step of performing the operation of UPC/NPC for a stream of CLP=0 cells, based on PCRA algorithm (Po) for the conventional stream of CLP=0 cells. And, UPC/NPC for the stream of CLP=0+1 cells is performed by PCRA algorithm (Po.sub.+1) for the conventional stream of CLP=0+1 cells, together with the compensation circuit using a single register of the invention. Thus, during the traffic negotiation in which two PCR are defined in ATM networks, MPP for the streams of CLP=0 cells and CLP=0+1 cells can be solved and CLR for the stream of CLP=0 cells is guaranteed.

  • Patent number: 5722037
Abstract: There is provided a process for producing titanium composite, comprising the steps of: molding titanium powder, titanium alloy powder, or powder comprising titanium into a certain shape by a cold isostatic press or cold press; reacting the shape with hydrocarbon gas at its decomposition temperature or higher, to form TiC therein; and providing the shape with high density by vacuum sintering, hot isostatic pressing, hot forging, hot rolling and/or the combinations thereof. TiC a reinforcing material, is in-situ formed by reacting a cold-pressed body of the powder with hydrocarbon gas and cleaner than the externally added one and distributed more uniformly and finely in the Ti matrix, leading to a significant improvement in wear resistance and high temperature property.

  • Patent number: 5711788
Abstract: A dust neutralizing and flocculating system used in an air cleaning system for removing contaminants contained in indoor air including a radio frequency generating electrode and an ion generating electrode. Fine particles passing through a moderately efficient filter equipped in the air cleaning system sequentially pass through the radio frequency generating electrode and ion generating electrode. The fine particles are dipolarly magnetized while passing through the radio frequency generating electrode, thereby exhibiting an increased inter-particles attraction. The ion generating electrode adds cations and anions to the fine particles, thereby promoting the flocculation of the fine particles circulating in the room installed with the air cleaning system. By virtue of the promoted flocculations, the particle size of the particles circulating in the room increases. The particles with an increased size are secondarily removed by the filter.

  • Patent number: 5315601
Abstract: An error correction method and apparatus for correcting multiple errors in received digital data word signals calculates syndromes S.sub.0, S.sub.1, S.sub.2 and S.sub.3 from a block of n received data words and a parity check matrix H. First coefficients .sigma..sub.1 and .sigma..sub.2 are calculated from the derived syndromes and a second coefficient K is calculated from the first coefficients .sigma..sub.1 and .sigma..sub.2. An error location value x.sub.1 is calculated from the second coefficient K, actual error location values X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are calculated from the value x.sub.1, and error values Y.sub.1 and Y.sub.2 are calculated from the actual error location values X.sub.1 and X.sub.2. The received data words are then corrected by applying the calculated error values Y.sub.1 and Y.sub.2. The error location value x.sub.1 calculator is preferably constituted by logic gates which enable the apparatus to be smaller and faster than those using a conventional ROM table.

  • Patent number: 5291342
Abstract: A multifunctional control device and method is used to determine a head channel selecting signal for playback heads of a video tape recorder and for controlling a phase shift direction of a video signal according to a desired reproduction mode. The video tape recorder has four heads, a first pair for use during standard play and a second pair for use during super long play. The heads read out recorded video signals and a first switch is connected to the first pair of heads and a second switch is connected to the second pair of heads for selectively providing outputs to corresponding amplifiers, under control of a servo controller. A third switch is connected to the outputs of the amplifiers for providing outputs under control of a microcomputer. The microcomputer controls the servo controller which in turn controls the speed of a drum motor and a capstan motor. The microcomputer also provides a phase shift direction controlling signal.
