  • Patent number: 5439755
Abstract: This invention provides a magnetic recording medium wherein visible patterns can be written, in which a heat sensitive layer is formed on a magnetic recording layer and a metallic thin layer is formed on said heat sensitive layer. The metallic thin layer of said magnetic recording medium can by roughed by using a material containing minute particles to form a roughed heat sensitive layer on the magnetic recording layer and then depositing the metallic thin layer on said heat sensitive layer. In using said magnetic recording medium, information corresponding to at least a part of the information recorded in the magnetic recording layer can be written as visible patterns.

  • Patent number: 5294587
Abstract: A thermal recording medium good in recording sensitivity and recording stability comprising a metal thin layer, a heat sensitive softening layer placed in contact with said metal thin layer, a contrasting layer placed in contact with said heat sensitive softening layer or said metal thin layer and having a visual contrast to said metal thin layer, and a heat sensitive color forming layer placed in contact with said heat sensitive softening layer or said metal thin layer on the side of said metal thin layer opposite to the side where the contrasting layer is positioned.

  • Patent number: 5160833
Abstract: A magnetic recording medium includes a truth determining code for determining whether the medium is authentic. The truth determining code is indicated by a magnetic polarity at at least an edge of the medium. A method of determining whether the medium is authentic comprises the steps of detecting a magnetic polarity at an edge of the magnetic recording medium, and collating a combination of the magnetic polarity with a proper combination of the magnetic polarity.

  • Patent number: 5113062
Abstract: A magnetic card wherein visible patterns are written. A magnetic recording layer is formed on a substrate, a sensitizing layer is formed on the magnetic recording layer, a metallic thin layer is formed on the sensitizing layer, a protective layer is formed on the metallic thin layer, an arrangement of magnetic bars is formed on the protective layer at one region of the magnetic card, and at least one information track is formed on the magnetic recording layer at the other region of the magnetic card. The metallic thin layer and the sensitizing layer are configured such that, upon the application of heat by a localized source, the heated portions of the metallic thin layer are dispersed into the sensitizing layer to produce the visible patterns.

  • Patent number: 4682017
Abstract: A shock-resistant integrated circuit card arranges an integrated circuit at a marginal edge region of the card where deformation forces are minimized. A flexible circuitboard interconnects the integrated circuit with exterior terminals spaced transversely away from the integrated circuit.

  • Patent number: 4321816
Abstract: A thin-walled metal tube includes a tubular nipple section, a shoulder section joined to the nipple section, a tubular barrel section and a border section connecting the shoulder and barrel sections, the barrel section being defined by a wall having a thickness in the range of between about 20 microns and about 70 microns. The border section includes a region which changes in thickness, the wall thickness of the border section being greater than the thickness of the wall defining the barrel section and the thickness changing region having a cross-section having either an arcuate or a tapered region.
