Patent number: 6271474Abstract: An oxide superconducting stranded wire having inter-strand insulation and high critical current is provided. A wire including an oxide superconducting material and a matrix covering the material and consisting essentially of silver or a silver alloy is coated with a paint containing, as a main component, an organometallic polymer such as a silicone polymer or aluminum primary phosphorus in a paint reservoir, and the paint is baked in a baking furnace via a drying furnace. A plurality of such wires with the baked paint are twined into a stranded wire, which is then heated up to a temperature necessary for sintering the oxide superconducting material. The stranded wire thus obtained through the step of sintering may have high critical current. A heat-resisting insulating coating layer may be formed by baking the paint.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 1998Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Assignees: Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., The Tokyo Electric Power CompanyInventors: Jun Fujikami, Nobuhiro Saga, Shuji Hahakura, Kazuya Ohmatsu, Hideo Ishii, Shoichi Honjo, Yoshihiro Iwata

Patent number: 6173765Abstract: A heat exchanger has plural tubes and a header tank formed by a first tank portion and a second tank portion. When the first tank portion and the second tank portion are assembled, a protruding portion protruding from a wall of the first tank portion is inserted into a hole formed in the second tank portion. Then, the first tank portion is slidably moved against the second tank portion in a parallel direction with respect to a longitudinal direction of the header tank until the protruding portion engages the hole. As a result, the second tank portion is partially clamped between the wall of the first tank portion and the protruding portion, and the first and second tank portions sufficiently contact each other. Therefore, undesirable clearance is restricted from being formed between the first and second tank portions, and brazing performance therebetween is improved.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2000Date of Patent: January 16, 2001Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Akira Uchikawa, Takao Ikeda, Yoshihiro Iwata

Patent number: 5355531Abstract: A squelch circuit for a radio transmitter/receiver includes an amplifier, a digitally-controlled electronic volume control, a volume adjusting variable resistor, and a volume controller. The amplifier amplifies a received audio signal input and provides the received audio signal to a loudspeaker. The digitally-controlled electronic volume control changes the output level of the amplifier. The volume adjusting variable resistor outputs data representing a volume value. The volume controller constantly detects changes in volume value data output from the variable resistor, and controls an attenuation amount of the digitally-controlled electronic volume control in accordance with the volume value represented by the variable resistor. While in a "mute" state, this volume control continues until a predetermined time has elapsed since the detection of the change in volume value data.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1992Date of Patent: October 11, 1994Assignee: Hitachi Denshi Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yoshihiro Iwata, Mitsuo Shiraishi
