  • Patent number: 11897513
Abstract: An autonomous vehicle, including a vehicle body, a wheel supported by the vehicle body, a steering mechanism configured to change a travel direction, a driving/braking force generating device configured to generate a driving force or a braking force to drive or decelerate the autonomous vehicle, a plurality of seats each configured to be sat on by a passenger, and an autonomous driving controller configured to control the steering mechanism and the driving/braking force generating device to autonomously drive the autonomous vehicle without any driver's manipulation. The autonomous driving controller is configured to determine whether or not to control the driving/braking force generating device to change the autonomous vehicle from a stopped state to a run state, based on (1) at least one of a number of passengers, a maximum capacity, or a scheduled number of passengers, and (2) at least one of a number of sitting passengers or a number of ready-state-expressing passengers.

  • Publication number: 20210241010
Abstract: An autonomous vehicle that moves automatically without any driver's manipulation. The autonomous vehicle includes a vehicle body including a deck, and an action-inducing device for inducing an action of a person who is a user of the autonomous vehicle or a non-user around the autonomous vehicle. The action-inducing device including an image-capturing device for capturing the person, and an information presentation device for presenting action-inducing information, to thereby induce the person to take the action.

  • Publication number: 20200222219
Abstract: A single-seat electric-vehicle travel control apparatus controls traveling of a single-seat electric vehicle by using output of a user-input detection device which has an input scheme different from those of conventionally proposed input apparatuses and which is highly versatile. A first user-input information acquisition unit acquires first user-input information, which indicates a first user action detected by the first user-input detection device. A second user-input information acquisition unit acquires second user-input information, which indicates a second user action detected by the second user-input detection device without contact with the second part of the user's body. A multi-input controller determines a first user intention based on first user-input information acquired by a first user-input information acquisition unit. The multi-input controller determines a second user intention based on second user-input information indicative of a second user action.

  • Patent number: 9955136
Abstract: A distance measuring device reduces an amount of calculations required to generate a parallax image. The distance measuring device that generates the parallax image to measure a distance includes image sensors each capturing an image, an edge image extractor that extracts an edge image in accordance with the image, the edge image including pixel values each containing identification information used to identify an edge caused by a brightness variation from light to dark or an edge caused by a brightness variation from dark to light, a binarized edge image generator that generates a binarized edge image in accordance with the identification information of the edge image, a parallax image generator that generates the parallax image from the binarized edge image, and a distance image calculator that calculates a distance image from the parallax image.
