  • Patent number: 8696551
Abstract: The flexible endoscope 20 has a flexible insertion portion 22 to be inserted in an observation zone 11 of a MRI apparatus 10. The insertion portion 22 has an inner tube 71 made of resin, triple helical tubes 72 covering the inner tube 71 and an outer tube 73 made of resin and covering the triple helical tubes 72. The triple helical tubes 72 include a first helical band 721 helically wound around an outer peripheral surface of the inner tube 71, a second helical band 722 helically wound around an outer periphery of the first helical band 721 in a direction opposite to a winding direction of the first helical band 721 and a third helical band 723 helically wound around an outer periphery of the second helical band 722 in a direction opposite to the winding direction of the second helical band 722. The first to third helical bands 721, 722, 723 are made of phosphor bronze or copper-silver alloy, which are materials having low magnetic susceptibility.

  • Patent number: 8313483
Abstract: Provided is an operating tool for organism, in particular, a microwave endoscope forceps. In terms of the operating tool for organism, provided is a multifunctional operating tool which has holding and scissors functions simultaneously, and may further perform coagulation (tissue fixation) by microwaves. The operating tool has no definite fulcrum, and has both the holding and scissors functions with a simple structure by deforming a long-track rod called beam. Two blades are insulated from each other so as to allow microwave current supply. With this structure, an operating tool having three functions, i.e., “a holding function”, “a coagulating function”, and “a cutting function” with a single tool may be developed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 8, 2007
Date of Patent: November 20, 2012
Assignee: National University Corporation Shiga University of Medical Science
Inventors: Makoto Hosaka, Tohru Tani, Yoshimasa Kurumi, Shigeyuki Naka

  • Patent number: 7195626
Abstract: Disclosed is an electrode device for microwave surgery which is provided with a marker securely fixed to the central electrode, which marker can provide a magnetic susceptibility artifact of a uniform size and shape free of fluctuation among electrode devices. The electrode device comprise a central conductor body, a tubular insulator body which covers the central conductor body except its distal end, a tubular external electrode which covers the tubular insulator body except its distal end part, and a central electrode which covers the distal end part of the central conductor body. The central conductor body, the insulator body, the external electrode and the central electrode are made of a nonmagnetic material, and a cylindrical member made of a magnetic material is fit around the distal end part of the central conductor body.
