  • Patent number: 6836967
Abstract: A folding knife includes a handle and a blade pivotally supported on the handle. A tang of the blade includes a cam surface. The cam surface has a substantially arcuate guiding portion and an engaging portion that extends continuously from one end of the guiding portion. A notch formed on an upper edge of the handle is provided with a lock mechanism. The lock mechanism includes a guide member, which is fixed to the handle in the notch, a hollow lock tube, which is supported on the guide member, and a coil spring, which is accommodated in the lock tube. The lock tube is movable along the longitudinal direction of the handle between a lock position for engaging the engaging portion and an unlock position separated from the engaging portion. When the blade is in the open position, the coil spring moves the lock tube toward the lock position. Thus, the blade is securely locked in the open position.

  • Patent number: 6606895
Abstract: Described is a method of manufacturing a crown-shaped component 3 having a plurality of axially extending protrusions 2 which are formed at an end of a cylindrical portion 1. The method comprises the steps of: upsetting the cylindrical portion into a cylindrical blank 10a having protrusions arrayed on and along the inner circumferential surface of a remaining part 12; annealing the cylindrical blank; removing the remaining part by cutting; and subjecting the resultant blank to a shot blasting process, whereby a magnetic characteristic of the resultant crown-shaped component is improved.

  • Patent number: 6428717
Abstract: A hydrophilic polymer material such as polyvinyl alcohol is formed into a porous film (301). A film (holding film) (303) made from a hydrophobic polymer material such as polyvinyl acetate is formed on the inner walls of a large number of pores (302) formed in the porous film (301). Lithium chloride (304) is held in these pores (302).

  • Patent number: 6126312
Abstract: A moisture sensitive element in which a functional film is formed in contact with opposing electrodes arranged on a substrate. The element includes a mechanism for measuring the temperature of the functional film. The functional film has a porous structure made from a polymer material with hydrophilic properties and includes fine pores. A holding film is formed on inner walls of the pores and made from another polymer material having hydrophobic properties. An electrolytic salt is held within the pores.
