  • Publication number: 20190268785
Abstract: A PDCP status report can be transmitted with reduced radio resources by transmitting the reception success or failure of a series of PDCP service data units (SDUs) in the form of a bitmap when configuring the PDCP status report. A PDCP control packet data unit (PDU) is generated to communicate a status report to a transmitting node for one or more PDCP SDUs transmitted from the transmitting node. The PDCP control PDU includes a data/control (D/C) bit field to indicate the PDCP control PDU is a control PDU, a control PDU type field to indicate a type of corresponding control information, a sequence number field to indicate a first missing PDCP SDU, and a bitmap field for a variable length bitmap. A bit in the variable length bitmap indicates whether a corresponding one of the one or more PDCP SDUs has been successfully been received.

  • Publication number: 20190268900
Abstract: A method for transmitting an uplink signal by a user equipment (UE). The method includes receiving an uplink grant including a new data indicator (NDI) on a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) from a network, determining whether the PDCCH is not addressed to a temporary cell identifier, determining whether the NDI has been toggled when the PDCCH is not addressed to the temporary cell identifier, and transmitting a new data to the network when the NDI has been toggled.

  • Patent number: 10349348
Abstract: A random access procedure between a mobile terminal and a network is performed based upon the characteristics of a RACH preamble transmitted by the terminal. A first type of random access preamble is selectable by the terminal from a set of random access preambles, and a second type of random access preamble is directly allocated to the terminal by the network. The network responds with a random access response. The terminal performs a discontinuous reception (DRX) operation that allows it to monitor a downlink control channel discontinuously. The DRX operation includes an active time period during which the terminal monitors the control channel after successful reception of the random access response for the second type of random access preamble until a transmission from the network addressed to a Cell-Radio Network Temporary Identifier (C-RNTI) associated with the terminal is received.

  • Publication number: 20190174352
Abstract: An apparatus and method for performing procedures (protocols) of a PDCP (Packet Data Convergence Protocol) layer and an RLC (radio layer in an E-UMTS (Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) which has evolved from UMTS, among radio protocols of a mobile communication system. The PDCP layer performs ciphering on data (i.e., PDCP SDU) received from an upper layer, generates an indicator discriminating ciphered data and non-ciphered data (i.e., an ROHC feedback packet directly generated by the PDCP layer), and transmits the same to a lower layer (i.e., MAC layer). A PDCP SN (Sequence Number) is defined as an algorithm for ciphering the data in the PDCP layer to perform ciphering in the PDCP layer.

  • Patent number: 10206183
Abstract: A method is provided for performing, by a user equipment (UE), a power headroom reporting (PHR) procedure in a wireless communication system. In a first PHR procedure, a first PHR is triggered, and it is determined that a first uplink (UL) resource cannot accommodate a PHR media access control (MAC) control element (CE) plus its subheader. The PHR MAC CE is not transmitted in the first PHR procedure and it is determined that the first PHR is not cancelled. Further, in a second PHR procedure, a second PHR is triggered, and it is determined that at least one PHR, including the first PHR and the second PHR, has been triggered and not cancelled. It is then determined that a second UL resource can accommodate a PHR MAC CE plus its subheader, and the PHR MAC CE is transmitted by using the second UL resource to an eNodeB (eNB).

  • Patent number: 10064082
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) and method are provided for transmitting an in-device coexistence (IDC) indication message in a wireless communication system. The UE receives a configuration message including an IDC indication from a base station. The UE transmits an IDC indication message to the base station if the UE determines that the IDC indication contains specific information. The specific information comprises an activation bit. The presence of the activation bit in the configuration message represents permission for the UE to transmit the IDC indication message. The IDC indication message includes frequency division multiplexing (FDM) assistant information. The FDM assistant information includes information on an unusable frequency in which interference from a long-term evolution (LTE) module in the UE to other coexisting technology modules in the UE or interference from other coexisting technology modules in the UE to the LTE module in the UE is expected.

  • Patent number: 10045381
Abstract: A method for transmitting radio resources in a mobile communication system is disclosed. The method includes receiving a random access channel (RACH) preamble from a plurality of UEs and transmitting response information associated with the received preambles over a common channel wherein the plurality UEs can access the common channel and receive corresponding information. If a HARQ scheme is used when a UE transmits data to the eNode-B using uplink radio resources allocated over the RACH, the eNode-B does not pre-allocate uplink radio resources required for re-transmission and performs allocation of radio resources for a first transmission of HARQ. If the re-transmission is required, the eNode-B allocates the radio resources required for the re-transmission with the NACK signal. If re-transmission is not required, the present invention can reduce an amount of wasted radio resources.
