  • Patent number: 5513257
Abstract: A method for controlling an overload in a hybrid full electronic switching system, capable of maintaining a stable service condition for an overload control interval and realizing a priority control depending on the type of call by sorting an overload occurring in the system into an overload associated with processors adapted to execute services in a centralized manner and an overload associated with processors adapted to execute same services in a distributed manner and thereby automatically calculating numbers of calls to be accepted respectively for control intervals for two kinds of overloads in different control manners. The method includes two different control procedures respectively applied to a case wherein a reduction in overload can be carried out in a processor involving the overload and a case wherein a reduction in overload can be carried out by limiting services to be executed in other processors.

  • Patent number: 5507189
Abstract: Apparatus and a method for evaluating the plane strain stretch formability for thin steel sheets used in automotive bodies to provide easy evaluation of the plane strain stretch formability. The apparatus includes: a lower die and an upper die with a lock bead installed thereon. A rectangularly shaped test specimen is inserted between the upper and lower dies and, and is clamped by means of the lock bead along the circumferential edge of the test specimen, so that the material of the test specimen can be moved into the upper die. A punch is elevated to apply a stretch forming force on the test specimen, and then, the plane strain stretch formability is evaluated based on the fracture limit punch height at the instant of the fracture. The punch has a saddle-like, semi-cylindrical shape.

  • Patent number: 5448617
Abstract: A method of processing an intelligent network service call in a service switching point (SSP) which has a DTMF processor and is connected to the originating local exchange/transit exchange to provide an intelligent network service. The SSP receives a digit from the other exchange in a R2MFC signalling mode to process a trunk signal from the other exchange upon generation of a trunk line seizure request from the other exchange. The SSP analyzes the received digit to check whether a call from the other exchange is a normal call or an intelligent network service call in which subscriber's information must be received in the middle of the service. If the call from the other exchange is the intelligent network service call, the SSP collects a calling number and a calling category from the other exchange, releases the R2MFC signalling mode and forms a speech path with the other exchange to communicate directly with a service user.

  • Patent number: 5413947
Abstract: A compound semiconductor device is disclosed which comprises a crystally grown buffer layer formed on a semi-insulating semiconductor substrate provided with an insulating layer. The crystal growth characteristics are such that the insulating layer does not allow crystal growth on its upper surface. During its growth, the buffer layer makes reverse sloped side edges which join to form a void. A gate electrode formed above the void separates a channel from the substrate. In the .delta.-MESFET, side walls are formed at both sides of the gate electrodes and an N.sup.+ -well region is formed by using the side walls as an ion implanting mask. Accordingly, the void separates the channel from the semiconductor substrate, thereby preventing leakage current through the buffer layer, backgating effects in an integrated circuit, and completing crystal growth without an undue effort for lowering the impurity concentration of the buffer layer.

  • Patent number: 5343039
Abstract: A scan start detecting device for a laser beam printer, comprising a wave length variation correcting unit arranged between a scanning unit including a scan disc hologram and a scan start detecting unit including a detector, the wave length variation correcting unit including a scan start hologram. The scan start hologram, which is a write hologram, serves to positional errors caused by a variation in wavelength, together with a pre-scan hologram arranged in front of the scan disc hologram. The correction of the scan start point is achieved, without using the cylindrical lens requiring a double surface finishing work. For the correction of the scan start point, the write hologram is used, which has the same function and yet inexpensive. Accordingly, the manufacture cost can be reduced. Where the write hologram is added with a read function, the performance thereof can be more improved. It is also possible to reduce the overall optical path of scan start beams.
