Next, in response to the received first request, a first entry may be added to a scheduling list. The first entry may correspond to the first request. Then, the first program content may be recorded according to the first entry in the scheduling list. In response to recording the first program content, a first indication may then be added to a recording list. The first indication may indicate that the first program content has been recorded.

Abstract: Multiple device recording may be provided. First, a recording device may be added to a network. Next, in response to adding the recording device to the network, recording device attribute data and recording device metadata may be received from the recording device. The received recording device metadata may then be translated. Then, using the translated metadata, asset data corresponding to assets on the recording device may be displayed. The asset data may be displayed in such a way to indicate which assets on the recording device are supported and which assets on the recording device are not supported.

Abstract: Content is filtered based on acquiring data associated with language identification. Data associated with language identification is acquired. Content is filtered based on a preferred language identified using the acquired data. The data associated with language identification is acquired from a plurality of sources. A language preference model provides a recommendation of a preferred language and determines a source of the acquired data having a highest priority. The acquired data is stored in a user profile.

Abstract: A unified control (UC) interface is configured for use with a portable computing device in part to manage and control access and personalization of a service network including managing automatic user and device access to subscribed to services. The UC interface of an embodiment can be used to display an overview of a service network, including authorized users, authorized devices, and/or associated settings. The UC interface of one embodiment can be used with a portable computing device in part to enable an authorized user to manage access and/or programming personalization on a per user and/or device basis.

Abstract: User-based parental controls (UBPC) are provided. UBPC are provided to users according to a user profile associated with a specific user. Parental controls may be tailored to meet a parental control need according to each user. User profiles may be created by one or more administrative users and may include restrictions according to a TV, movie, application, or game rating system, specific channels, or specific programs. User profiles may be stored in a remote database allowing for various media content receiving and/or viewing devices to access the user profiles for applying parental control features according to a specific user profile. A user profile may be altered by one or more administrative users who may create an override access code which may allow the administrative user to manage other users' parental controls.

Abstract: The systems and methods of out of band application synchronization across devices disclosed herein include a companion application running on a secondary device, such as a mobile device. An out-of-band file containing program event markers is transmitted to a set top box. These program event markers may be used to link the program watched on the STB or the mobile device. Upon reaching the position indicated by the out-of-band file, the payload may be sent out by the STB to an application on a secondary device. The secondary device running the companion application receives the payload and triggers an action to fetch the associated metadata from the server. The companion application may include related content or advertisements, and communicate with a social network or the user's network to communicate at the same time with other customers watching the same program.

Abstract: A system and method for three-dimensional (3D) acquisition and modeling of a scene using two-dimensional (2D) images are provided. The system and method provides for acquiring first and second images of a scene, applying a smoothing function to the first image to make feature points of objects, e.g., corners and edges of the objects, in the scene more visible, applying at least two feature detection functions to the first image to detect feature points of objects in the first image, combining outputs of the at least two feature detection functions to select object feature points to be tracked, applying a smoothing function to the second image, applying a tracking function on the second image to track the selected object feature points, and reconstructing a three-dimensional model of the scene from an output of the tracking function.
