  • Patent number: 11747915
Abstract: Systems, devices, media, and methods are presented for using a handheld device such as a ring to manipulate a virtual object being displayed by a wearable device such as eyewear. The path of the virtual object in motion is substantially linked, in time and space, to the course traveled by a hand holding the handheld device. The methods in some implementations include presenting the virtual object on a display at a first location relative to a three-dimensional coordinate system, collecting motion data from an inertial measurement unit on the handheld device, displaying the virtual object at a second location along a path based on the motion data. In some implementations the eyewear includes a projector located and configured to project the display onto a lens assembly.

  • Patent number: 11716592
Abstract: Systems, methods, devices, computer readable media, and other various embodiments are described for location management processes in wearable electronic devices. One embodiment involves pairing a client device with a wearable device, capturing a first client location fix at a first time using the first application and location circuitry of the client device. The client device then receives content from the wearable device, where the content is associated with a content capture time and location state data. The client device then updates a location based on the available data to reconcile the different sets of location data. In some embodiments, additional sensor data, such as data from an accelerometer, is used is used to determine which location data is more accurate for certain content.

  • Publication number: 20230214819
Abstract: A system and associated methods display on a user device a non-fungible token (NFT) in an application that displays video data. The methods include storing the NFT of a user in a database accessible to the application, associating an ID of the user for the application to the NFT, and receiving a selection of the NFT during use of the application. Upon selection, the selected NFT is provided to the user device for superimposing the selected NFT over the user's face, providing the selected NFT as a background image for the video data on the user device, or both. The user device includes a web application that connects the database to a crypto wallet containing the NFT. The NFT may be processed to crop out the eyes and mouth of the NFT for registration with the user's eyes and mouth when the NFT is superimposed over the user's face.

  • Publication number: 20230217007
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for selectively sharing audio and video streams amongst electronic eyewear devices. Each electronic eyewear device includes a camera arranged to capture a video stream in an environment of the wearer, a microphone arranged to capture an audio stream in the environment of the wearer, and a display. A processor of each electronic eyewear device executes instructions to establish an always-on session with other electronic eyewear devices and selectively shares an audio stream, a video stream, or both with other electronic eyewear devices in the session. Each electronic eyewear device also generates and receives annotations from other users in the session for display with the selectively shared video stream on the display of the electronic eyewear device that provided the selectively shared video stream. The annotation may include manipulation of an object in the shared video stream or overlay images registered with the shared video stream.

  • Publication number: 20230188636
Abstract: A user context profile is generated based on first context information gathered from at least one device of a first user. The user context profile defines a context to hold message delivery to a first user. The user context profile is enabled for message delivery to the first user. A message is received from a second user directed to the first user. In response to detecting the context defined by the user context profile based on second context information, the message is held for later delivery to the first user and a notification is provided to the second user indicating that the message has not been delivered. Subsequently, based on determining a current context of the first user does not correspond to the context defined by the user context profile, the message is delivered to the at least one device of the first user.

  • Publication number: 20230189155
Abstract: Systems, methods, devices, computer readable media, and other various embodiments are described for location management processes in wearable electronic devices. Performance of such devices is improved with reduced time to first fix of location operations in conjunction with low-power operations. In one embodiment, low-power circuitry manages high-speed circuitry and location circuitry to provide location assistance data from the high-speed circuitry to the low-power circuitry automatically on initiation of location fix operations as the high-speed circuitry and location circuitry are booted from low-power states. In some embodiments, the high-speed circuitry is returned to a low-power state prior to completion of a location fix and after capture of content associated with initiation of the location fix. In some embodiments, high-speed circuitry is booted after completion of a location fix to update location data associated with content.

  • Patent number: 11676320
Abstract: A computer system receives user selection of an avatar story template. User-specific parameters relating to the user are determined and real-time data, based at least in part on the user-specific parameters, is retrieved. Specific media or digital assets are obtained based on at least one of the real-time data and the user-specific parameters. An avatar story is then generated by combining the avatar story template and the specific media or digital assets. The avatar story is then displayed on a display of a computing device.

  • Patent number: 11675217
Abstract: Eyewear having a light array and vibration sensors for indicating to a user the direction and distance of an object relative to the eyewear to help a user understand and avoid objects. To compensate for partial blindness, the front portion of the eyewear frame may include the light array, where one or more lights of the light array is illuminated to indicate a corresponding direction of a proximate object. The relative brightness of the one or more lights indicates how close the object is, where brighter light(s) indicates a close object. To compensate for more severe partial blindness or complete blindness, the eyewear has haptics, such as a plurality of vibration devices on the front portion of the eyewear, such as in the bridge, which selectively vibrate to indicate a direction of the object. The stronger the vibration, the closer the object.

  • Publication number: 20230177786
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program, method, and user interface to facilitate context based augmented reality communication between multiple users over a network. Virtual content item configuration data indicative of a selection by a first user of virtual content item to apply to a real-world environment that is visible to a second user via a second device is received from a first device. The virtual content item configuration data also includes one or more criteria to trigger application of the virtual content item to the real-world environment. A triggering event is detected based on satisfaction of the one or more criteria determined from context data generated at the second device. The second device presents the virtual content item overlaid on the real-world environment that is visible to the second user based on the triggering event.
