  • Patent number: 10945651
Abstract: An arousal level determination device, which determines an arousal level of a driver driving a vehicle, includes a detection part and a determination part. The detection part is configured to detect an amount of body movement indicating a magnitude of movement of a body of the driver. The determination part is configured to determine the arousal level of the driver. The determination part determines that the driver is in an initial stage of decline in the arousal level when the amount of body movement has a decreasing trend.

  • Patent number: 10507646
Abstract: Priority order is updated so that an ejection port that is selected as an ejection port subjected to ejection failure determination in a pixel row in which a previous ejection operation is to be performed has the lowest priority order, which is used for selecting an ejection port subjected to ejection failure determination, in a pixel row in which a subsequent ejection operation is to be performed.

  • Patent number: 10293604
Abstract: In order to keep possible local temperature differences in a liquid ejection head small to allow stable liquid ejection performance to be achieved, temperatures in a plurality of heating areas in a liquid ejection head are discretely controlled using heating elements and temperature detection elements.

  • Patent number: 9399355
Abstract: Printing an image on a printing medium includes using a print head that ejects a first ink and a second ink having higher lightness than the first ink with preliminary ejection that is performed in a predetermined area in which the image is to be formed in order to maintain an ink ejection state of the print head and that does not contribute to printing of the image, wherein dots of the first ink and dots of the second ink formed in the predetermined area by the preliminary ejection are printed so as to be superposed on each other.

  • Patent number: 9120336
Abstract: When it is decided that the PE sensor installed upstream of the conveying roller has detected paper, the motor driving the recovery operation is stopped. This prevents paper jamming that may be caused by the reverse rotation of the motor during the recovery operation. That is, when print paper happens to remain on a conveying path for some reason, at a position where it can be driven simultaneously by both of the intermediate and the conveying rollers, the activation of the recovery operation, which is powered by the same motor that drives these rollers, can result in paper jamming because the recovery operation causes the conveying roller to rotate in a direction reverse to that of the intermediate roller. The paper jamming can, however, be prevented by stopping the conveying of the paper before it reaches a position where it is driven by the two rollers at the same time.
