  • Patent number: 11019232
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, a case section, a conveyance section, a controller, an acquiring section, and storage. The controller controls the image forming section and the conveyance section according to mechanical settings information corresponding to a type of the sheet. The acquiring section acquires an identification image for identifying the type of the sheet. The storage stores therein mechanical-settings-information candidates and registered images associated with the mechanical-settings-information candidates. The controller determines whether or not a matching image exists when a sheet is loaded in the case section. Here, the matching image is a registered image matching the identification image of the registered images. The controller adjusts mechanical settings information based on a mechanical-settings-information candidate associated with the matching image of the mechanical-settings-information candidates when determining that the matching image exists.

  • Patent number: 10841455
Abstract: Use of a replacement image forming apparatus is immediately performed. When a first system control unit of a first MFP is instructed to start backup of data stored in a first HDD and a first EEPROM, the first system control unit transmits the data to an information management server, and when a second system control unit of a second MFP is instructed to start setting, the second system control unit issues a download request including a storage capacity of the second HDD and the second EEPROM to the information management server, and a third system control unit of the information management server stores data from the first MFP in a third HDD, reads data from the third HDD according to a storage capacity of the second HDD and the second EEPROM, and transmits the data to the second MFP.

  • Patent number: 10554840
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a controller that operates as a memory device detection module that detects connection of the memory device to the port, a speculative process control module that, when the connection of the memory device is detected, reads sizes of the one or more image data items from the memory device, and causes the image processor to speculatively process the one or more image data items in a descending order of the sizes, and a job execution module that, when the job execution request is input, reads the speculatively-processed image data item from the storage device on a basis of the selection request, and outputs the speculatively-processed image data item in response to the job execution request.

  • Patent number: 9961232
Abstract: To provide an image forming device (20) able to perform an appropriate preview. A MFP (20) that generates an output image (27a) for at least one of transmission and printing (S102) and executes an output using an output image (27a) generated in S102. The MFP (20) generates a preview image (27b) for preview of the output image (27a), stores the preview image (27b) generated in S104 in a storage medium (30) outside of the MFP (20), and performs a preview using the preview image (27b) stored in the storage medium (30) in S109 (S111).
