  • Publication number: 20090170564
Abstract: A technology for reducing the so-called “phosphor burn-in” phenomenon where the variation of luminance arises by reducing display luminance of a certain pixel caused by deterioration in a display apparatus constituted by an organic electro luminescence element is provided. In the display apparatus, when displaying an image acquired by an image acquiring unit, luminance substantially same as average luminance of the acquired image is set to a non-display area where the image is not displayed.

  • Publication number: 20090132143
Abstract: An initial value ?0 of a vehicle deflection angle ? and an initial value L0 of a distance L are set, a normalized coefficient R is determined from the ratio of the vehicle deflection angle ? or the distance L to the initial value ?0 or the initial value L0 when vehicle stop control is started, and the target speed VREF of a body speed VL is determined by that coefficient R. Since the body speed V of the vehicle VL is very low when the vehicle VL arrives at a target parking position, the vehicle VL can be stopped precisely at the target parking position.

  • Patent number: 7529600
Abstract: A target vehicle path is corrected in accordance with the environment surrounding a vehicle during parking assist or U-turn assist. To achieve the target vehicle path, target wheel speeds are set for respective wheels so as to generate a speed difference an inside wheel and an outside wheel of a turn. The target wheel speed is achieved by controlling braking force and driving force of each wheel. Thus, it is possible for the vehicle to turn with a smaller turning radius than that generated by a normal steering angle, and to cause the vehicle to move accurately along the target vehicle path that avoids any obstacles that are present.

  • Patent number: 7522172
Abstract: A display device has: an RGB-RGBW conversion circuit that converts RGB signals fed thereto into RGBW signals; a display panel that has a plurality of dots each composed of four, namely R, G, B, and W, unit pixels and that displays an image based on the RGBW signals; a defect position specifier that specifies, if a unit pixel is found defective, a position of the defective pixel on the display panel; and a conversion rate controller that controls the rate at which, when the RGB signals are converted into the RGBW signals, the RGB signals are converted into a W signal according to the position of the defective pixel. If the defective pixel is a W pixel, the conversion rate for pixels adjacent thereto is made lower than the standard conversion rate set for the entire display panel.

  • Publication number: 20090043474
Abstract: A control apparatus is provided to control the stopping of a vehicle. The control apparatus comprises a speed detector that detects a speed of a vehicle, speed acquiring means, target setting means, and control means. The speed acquiring means acquires an actual speed of the vehicle from detected results of the speed detector. The target setting means sets a target acceleration of the vehicle depending on the actual speed when the vehicle is stopped automatically. The control means controls an actual acceleration of the vehicle at the target acceleration.

  • Publication number: 20090043473
Abstract: An apparatus is provided to estimate a gradient of a road surface on which a vehicle travels. The apparatus comprises acquisition, estimation, and compensation members. The acquisition member acquires at least one of acceleration of the vehicle calculated on changes in a travel speed of the vehicle and acceleration sensed from a force applied to the vehicle. The estimation means estimates the gradient of the road surface based on the acquired acceleration. The compensation member compensates the acquired acceleration in terms of influence of noise superposed on the acceleration, depending on an operational condition of the vehicle. The compensated acceleration is used by the estimation. The compensation is carried out by cutting off the noise by a filter, for example.

  • Publication number: 20080101721
Abstract: The correcting device includes a flicker correction circuit installed in an image shooting apparatus, which is configured to employ a complementary metal oxide semiconductor image sensor for shooting an image in a rolling shutter mode. An image is divided into M pieces in a vertical direction and N pieces in a horizontal direction. Then, areal average values are calculated by averaging pixel signals for each of the divided areas while an average of the areal average values for multiple frames are calculated for each of the divided areas, thereby calculating areal reference values that lack flicker components. A current frame of the image is corrected by use of the areal correction coefficients calculated from ratios of areal reference values to areal average values on the current frame.

  • Publication number: 20080095408
Abstract: There is provided an imaging apparatus and an imaging method capable of matching coordinate positions of a plurality of images to be synthesized with each other when generating an image having a wide dynamic range by synthesizing the plurality of images each having a different exposure condition. When a luminance adjustment circuit adjusts a luminance value of each of reference image data and non-reference image data, a displacement detection circuit detects displacement between the reference image data and non-reference image data. After a displacement correction circuit corrects coordinate positions of the non-reference image data on the basis of the detected displacement, an image synthesizing circuit generates synthesized image data composed of reference image data and non-reference image data.

  • Patent number: 7358864
Abstract: In a parking assist control apparatus for assisting a driver with parking a vehicle, when a brake control ECU detects that a door is open based on a detection signal from a door open/close sensor during parking assist control, the brake control ECU determines whether the open door is a door other than the driver side door. If the open door is a door other than the driver side door, the vehicle is automatically stopped, thus enabling occupant safety to be ensured.

  • Patent number: 7356396
Abstract: An automatic steering control performs an automatic parking control which automatically steers steerable wheels of a vehicle, without requiring a driver to perform steering wheel operation, such that the actual steering angle of the steerable wheels follows a changing target steering angle, whereby the vehicle is moved to a target parking state. When the actual steering angle fails to follow the target steering angle because of insufficiency of the steering drive force of a steering actuator, a braking force difference imparting control is performed so as to apply a predetermined braking force on the steerable wheel located inside a target vehicle locus. As a result, a steering moment is generated in the steerable wheels. This steering moment serves as a force for compensating for the insufficiency of the steering drive force of the steering actuator. As a result, the actual steering angle accurately follows the target steering angle.

  • Publication number: 20080024620
Abstract: An image-taking apparatus generates an output image from a photographed image obtained by photographing and displays this output image on a display screen of a display section. The image-taking apparatus includes a recognition processing section for recognizing a specific subject (facial region of a person, or a facial component such as eyes) included in the photographed image. Referring to results of this recognition, the image-taking apparatus evaluates the dimension of the specific subject in each photographed image. If the dimension evaluated is relatively large, a relatively small magnification ratio to be employed upon the generation of the output image from the photographed image is provided. If the dimension evaluated is relatively small, a relatively large magnification ratio to be employed upon the generation of the output image from the photographed image is provided. As a result, the dimension of the specific subject in the output image is kept substantially constant.
