    Abstract: A pivoting device especially useful in aircraft passenger cabins that can pivot a monitor between stowed and open positions, the pivoting device including a forward/reverse rotatable driving motor. An electromagnetic brake holds the monitor in stowed and opened positions A power unit powers the motor and the electromagnetic brake. A controller controls the pivoting movement of the monitor. The power unit includes a rectifier circuit that transforms AC to a DC, a step-up circuit that steps up the transformed voltage, a voltage regulator that adjusts the transformed voltage to a prescribed DC voltage, and a retraction power retention circuit including a capacitor. When no source voltage is detected while the monitor is in its opened state, the capacitor supplies the power to a voltage regulator of the power circuit, deactivates the electromagnetic brake and reverse rotates the motor to drive the monitor to its stowed position.

A portion of an air-fuel mixture is introduced into a negative-pressure chamber of the fuel booster pump via a negative-pressure chamber channel, and the fuel booster pump is actuated. The actuation forces air in a pump chamber to flow into a pressure chamber, and fuel in a fuel storage chamber is temporarily supplied to a carburetor.

The subsequent single crystal pulling is performed in a furnace having an internal pressure which is lower than the pressure when the silicon material is molten, but not exceeding 95 mbar. This method prevents production of a defective single crystal which results from the formation of pinholes, prevents dislocation of the single crystal which results from bubbles and impurities present in silicon melting solution, and prevents dislocation of the single crystal which results from evaporation of the SiO.

    Abstract: A compatible discrete four-channel (CD-4) stereophonic reproducing system which comprises a detecting circuit for detecting a sub-channel signal. A control means detects an over-deviation of the sub-channel signal and deactivates a noise elimination switching circuit connected in a stage following the detecting circuit when the over-deviation signal appears, thereby preventing an output from being transmitted from the detecting circuit to succeeding stages. A distortion reducing circuit is also provided. This circuit is responsive to an output of said control means for attenuating at least a high frequency band of an output of the switching circuit for a predetermined time period, this period being longer than the period for which the over-deviation signal appears. Consequently, the noise produced by various causes can be effectively eliminated.
