  • Publication number: 20060230956
Abstract: A movable blade unit is fixed to a cutter release lever. The cutter release lever is attached to an upper frame by a cutter supporting point shaft so as to freely oscillate. A latch lever holding the upper frame at a closed position and a cutter lock lever locking the cutter release lever are integrated, and are coupled by an opening and closing lever. If the opening and closing lever is pushed down, the cutter lock lever cancels the lock of the cutter release lever while keeping a state in which the latch lever latches the upper frame. Accordingly, in the movable blade unit, a driving force transmission path between the movable blade unit and a cutter driving motor is disconnected, and a movable blade is returned to a home position by a return spring.

  • Patent number: 6290394
Abstract: A linear motion guide unit in which rolling applicators transfer lubricant from a lubricant-containing member to raceway grooves on a track rail to make less sliding-friction resistance to a sliding element. The guide unit has a case accommodating therein the lubricant-containing member, and rolling applicators supported for rotation by a bearing member in the case. The lubricant held in the lubricant-containing member is applied onto the raceway grooves on the track rail through the rolling applicators, the peripheries of which are kept on sliding contact with the lubricant-containing member, thereby lubricating the confronting raceway grooves of the track rail and the sliding element, along which rolling elements run through in the sliding element. The frictional resistance that is encountered when the rolling element run through the track rail is the frictional resistance to rolling motion, which makes less the sliding resistance to the sliding element.

  • Patent number: 6237428
Abstract: An improved torque sensor for detecting the direction and the magnitude of a torque applied to a shaft. The sensor includes a magnetostrictive layer, a pair of bearings, a stator and two nuts. The sleeve is fixed the circumference of the shaft. The layer has a magnetostriction effect in accordance with torque applied to the shaft. A pair of collars are fixed to the shaft at opposite ends of the layer. The bearings are connected to the shaft. Each bearing contacts one of the collars. The stator accommodates two pairs of coils. Each coil pair includes an exciting coil and a detecting coil. The coils surround and face the magnetostrictive layer. The axial position of the stator is determined by the bearings. Each nut is threaded to a threaded portion fixed to the shaft and presses one of the bearings against the corresponding collar. Accordingly, the axial position of the stator is determined.

  • Patent number: 6095116
Abstract: An improved apparatus controls negative pressure in a combustion engine. The apparatus has a brake booster that is capable of increasing braking force of a vehicle by means of the negative pressure in the brake booster. A valve disposed in an air intake pressure generates the negative pressure that is supplied to the brake booster. An electric control unit controls the valve when pressure in the brake booster is in excess of a predetermined magnitude.

  • Patent number: 6042097
Abstract: An apparatus for precisely, speedy positioning a table on which a work piece is mounted. The apparatus has a moving mechanism in which a linear motion rolling guide unit is employed to convert the horizontal movement of a moving body by a linear motor to the vertical movement. Upon the moving body being horizontally moved with respect to the bed along first track rails through first sliding elements by mean of the linear motor, the working table moves vertically by the action of a second sliding element which moves along a second track rail on an inclined plane of the moving body. The vertical movement of the working table is controlled through third sliding elements so as to be guided along third track rails secured to a cylindrical member on the bed. The working table may make the vertical movement relative to the bed with high accuracy and high speed, irrespectively of loads variable in acting direction and magnitude.

  • Patent number: 6017100
Abstract: Pressure in an air intake passage is changed according to an opening size of a throttle valve. The throttle valve is open when an engine performs a stratified charge combustion. The opening size of the throttle valve is selected based on a load applied to the engine when the engine performs a homogeneous charge combustion. A brake booster is connected to the intake passage and accumulates the pressure that is generated in the intake passage. The brake booster obtains braking force for the vehicle when the accumulated pressure is smaller than a predetermined reference value. The throttle valve is actuated by a controller to decrease the pressure in the intake passage when pressure in the brake booster detected by a pressure sensor is larger than the predetermined reference value. The reference value is corrected by the controller based on movement characteristics of the vehicle that is detected by velocity sensor.

  • Patent number: 5950595
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for generating vacuum pressure in an engine is disclosed. The engine includes an intake path, combustion chambers and an exhaust path. Airflow in the intake path is controlled by a throttle valve. An exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) passage deflects a part of flow of the exhaust gas to the intake path from the exhaust path. An EGR valve regulates the flow of exhaust gas passing through the EGR passage. A brake booster is connected to the intake path and increases braking force of the vehicle. A pressure sensor detects the pressure in the booster. A central processing unit determines whether the detected pressure is higher than a predetermined value. The throttle valve is in a relatively open position when the engine performs stratified charge combustion. The throttle valve decreases the pressure in the intake path when the throttle valve restricts flow.

  • Patent number: 5682655
Abstract: A furred thread is produced by a sequence of steps, which include impregnating a fur material with moisture. The material is stretched in a stream direction of hairs of the material and dried. The material is cut in the stream direction of the hair to produce a fur strip, which is impregnated with moisture, twisted in a manner such that its hair side appears outwardly while the strip is stretched in its longitudinal direction, and dried to produce the furred thread.

  • Patent number: 5440793
Abstract: A fur strip 6 is wound on each of warp yarns 2 and weft yarns 3 of a net 4 to have a hair side 6a of the fur strip 6 disposed outside the net 4 so as to form a hairy textile fabric element 7, the net 4 being woven by interlacing the warp yarns 2 with the weft yarns 3 and having end portions of the yarns 2, 3 trimmed with an edge member 5 to form a part fabric base 1. The hairy textile fabric element 7 is treated with water by spraying water thereon or by immersion in water. The part fabric base 1 is temporarily fixed to a predetermined template to permit the fur strips 6 to be dried and hardened. In the method, adjacent ones of the fur strips 6 wound on the warp yarns 2 or on the weft yarns 3 are opposed in winding direction to each other.

  • Patent number: 5373635
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a linear motion guide unit having a slider mounted to a rail. The rail includes a top surface, a bottom surface and a pair of side surfaces. A liner overlying the rail is press-formed against a core which is lager than a combination of the rail and a thin plate member. The press-formed liner is placed inside a mold and molten metal is poured into a gap formed between the liner and the mold. After the metal cools to a hardened condition, the slider is removed from the mold and assembled on the rail with a gap defined between the top of the rail and an opposed surface of the slider. Oil is supplied to the gap to define an oil film between the rail and the slider.
