  • Publication number: 20250096925
Abstract: An example wireless networking device (e.g., Access point) dynamically managing preamble puncturing for OFDM-based communications. The wireless networking device determines first criteria of a signal quality and further determines to allow preamble puncturing, wherein the signal quality of the determines the occupancy of a subchannel. Based on the determination to preamble puncture, apply dynamically, preamble puncturing to an adjacent subchannel. The wireless networking device further monitors the subchannel signal quality and determines based on a second criteria, an amount of bandwidth useable from an adjacent bandwidth. The wireless networking device, based on the second criteria, dynamically allocate bandwidth from the adjacent subchannel.

  • Patent number: 12142845
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a compact antenna system within a dielectric housing of an electronic device, capable of achieving improved reflection performance. The antenna system includes a ground plane and an antenna PCB. An antenna microstrip feed on a side of the antenna PCB comprises a first part of a radiating antenna element. The antenna PCB is connected to the ground plane by a central conductor of a coaxial cable which forms a ground path. An outer conductor of the coaxial cable carries RF signals to the antenna PCB, allowing the RF signals to freely radiate along a length of the coaxial cable and acting as a second part of the radiating antenna element. The coaxial cable does not interfere with, and can even enhance a radiation pattern of the antenna microstrip feed.

  • Patent number: 11522290
Abstract: In an example, an electronic device may include a housing and a display panel disposed in the housing. Further, the electronic device may include an input assembly disposed in the housing abutting a side of the display panel. The input assembly may include a printed circuit board (PCB), a sensor disposed on the PCB, and a first keep-out zone defined on the PCB on a side of the sensor. Further, the electronic device may include an antenna disposed in the first keep-out zone of the PCB.

  • Publication number: 20160308276
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for dynamic switching of antennas. A portable information handling system includes a housing having a plurality of edges, a first antenna and a second antenna. The first antenna is located proximate a first edge of the plurality of edges, the second antenna is located proximate a second edge of the plurality of edges. The system includes a switch communicatively coupled to the first antenna and the second antenna, and a processing resource communicatively coupled to the switch. The processing resource is configured to determine a first orientation of the portable information handling system; based on the first orientation, designate the first antenna as a primary antenna and designate the second antenna as a secondary antenna; and direct the switch to transition the primary antenna to an active state and direct the switch to transition the secondary antenna to an inactive state.

  • Patent number: 7518555
Abstract: A multi-band antenna structure includes a ground plane, a first radiation metal arm, a first shorted parasitic arm and a second shorted parasitic arm. The first radiation metal arm is connected to a main transmitting antenna and has a first feed point for connecting a first feed line. The first shorted parasitic arm extends to the outside from the ground plane. The first shorted parasitic arm is between the first radiation metal arm and the ground plane for resonantly coupling the first radiation metal arm at a first band. The second shorted parasitic arm also extends to the outside from the ground plane. The second shorted parasitic arm is between the first radiation metal arm and the first shorted parasitic arm for resonantly coupling the first radiation metal arm at a second band.
