  • Patent number: 8624707
Abstract: Information from one or more transmitters installed in a detection object area is received. The reception feature value of when a detection object is present in a predetermined position of the detection object area is measured. A reception pattern of when the detection object is present in the predetermined position is formed. The reception pattern is compared with reference reception patterns, and the presence position corresponding to the reference reception pattern most approximate to the reception pattern is acquired from a reference reception pattern database where the presence positions of the detection object and the reference reception patterns of when the detection object is present in the presence positions are associated with one another. The presence position of the detection object is estimated according to the acquired presence position. The estimated presence position of the detection object is associated with received detection object identification information.

  • Patent number: 8443237
Abstract: An objective is to allow a storage apparatus to accurately locate a failure site upon occurrence of a failure. Provided is a storage apparatus 10 including: a controller 11 that performs data input and data output into and from a storage drive 171 in response to a data input/output request sent from an external device 2; and expanders 112, 121 each having a switch circuit 1122 provided with a physical port (Phy 1121). In this storage apparatus 10, the controller 11 performs a loopback diagnosis on the expanders 112, 121, and performs a connection-based diagnosis on a target device by sending a connection frame thereto, the target device being a device detected as having a failure. When a response to the connection frame includes information indicating a failure, the controller 11 disables the physical port to which the target device is coupled, or the physical port of the switch circuit 1121 existing on a path from the controller 11 to the target device.

  • Publication number: 20120253739
Abstract: The fact that a movable object exits a specific area is judged with high accuracy. A first movement sensor detects the movement of the movable object in a first area. A second movement sensor detects the movement of the movable object in a second area including the first area. A time judgment unit judges whether or not a time difference from a time point when a measurement value obtained by the first movement sensor becomes a predetermined value or less to a time point when a measurement value obtained by the second movement sensor becomes the predetermined value or less is a first threshold value or more. An existence judgment unit judges that the movable object does not exist in the first area in the case where the time judgment unit has judged that the time difference is the first threshold value or more.

  • Publication number: 20120244881
Abstract: Disclosed is a position-detection technology that can correctly detect the position of a wireless machine attached to a mobile body, even if there are few reference wireless machines installed in the environment in which the position of the mobile body is to be determined. The means for achieving the above is characterized by retrieving from a feature quantity recording unit a reception feature quantity approximating the reception feature quantity calculated from radio wave strength of the mobile station that moves within the aforementioned environment, and determining the position information associated with the retrieved reception feature quantity to be of the position of the aforementioned mobile station.

  • Patent number: 7990271
Abstract: Quantities of movements of human and matter within a detection area are detected, based on the read results of an ID holding unit arranged in the detection area or information obtained from a sensor arranged in the detection area. Parameters are decided in accordance with the detected movement quantity, and by using such parameters, whether the detecting object is within the detection area or not is detected, based on the read results of an ID holding unit attached to a detecting object. A stabilizing process is performed based on the detected movement quantities of human and matter within the detection area by employing such constitution. Thus, detection is stabilized without limiting using environment or using method.

  • Patent number: 7948430
Abstract: A position estimating device (4) which estimates the position of an object by comparing a receiving pattern obtained from ID transmitters (2a, 2b, . . . ) and ID receivers (3a, 3b, . . . ) installed in an environment with a prestored receiving pattern. Position of an object equipped with no extra device can be estimated only with the ID transmitters and ID receivers installed in an environment even in an indoor multipath environment by utilizing a fact that a receiving pattern obtained from ID transmitters (2a, 2b, . . . ) and ID receivers (3a, 3b, . . . ) installed in an environment changes depending on the position of the object.

  • Publication number: 20100039969
Abstract: It is possible to prevent degradation of power consumption efficiency or lowering of a communication rate in a radio communication. Each node 50 determines a transmission power for data communication so that the number of searched nodes reaches a target value and stores the node address of the searched node by the transmission power in an adjacent node address storage unit 25. Moreover, the transmission power for control communication is determined in the same way. When the node 50 transmits a data frame to another node, an ERTS frame including the node address stored in the adjacent node address storage unit 25 is transmitted by the transmission power for the control communication. After an ECTS frame is received, the data frame is transmitted by the transmission power for the data communication. A control information input/output unit 24 identifies the node in an NAV period from the received ERTS frame or the like and stores the node address of the node in an NAV setting node address storage unit 26.

  • Publication number: 20100042493
Abstract: It is ensured that advertising information can be distributed and advertising effectiveness can be validated without increasing any burden on the store side. A distribution server 1 gives an advertisement ID and advertisement position information to the advertising information to distribute it to a user portable terminal 3. The user portable terminal 3 automatically judges whether or not a user visits the store on the basis of terminal position information detected by a sensor 32 and the advertisement position information given to the advertising information. When judging that the user has visited the store, the user portable terminal 3 extracts the user ID and the advertisement ID given to the advertising information and transmits them to an effectiveness validation server 2.

  • Patent number: 7233872
Abstract: The error of a sensor in motion capture system is corrected. An acceleration sensor determines the direction of gravity (G1) in a still initial state. The direction G1 will never change always if a drift dose not occur. However, actually if an object to which an acceleration sensor is attached moves along a coordinate axis, the direction gradually changes due to a drift with time. According to the invention, after a given time has passed, the acceleration sensor is stopped to determine the direction of gravity. Referring to the data on this determination, the true direction of gravity to be judged is compared with the direction of gravity G1 influenced by the drift. The difference between them is assumed to be an error due to a drift, and the error is subtracted from the determined value to correct the error of the measurement value.

  • Patent number: 4937603
Abstract: A camera capable of multiple exposure photography. The camera has a lens shutter for performing a programmed exposure operation and a diaphragm-adjusting operation and a focal-plane shutter. The camera further includes a first selector means and a second selector means. The operation mode of the camera is switched between a lens shutter mode and a focal-plane shutter mode by the first selector means. In the lens shutter mode, the lens shutter is operated as a programmed shutter. In the focal-plane shutter mode, the shutter speed and the aperture are controlled by the focal-plane shutter and the lens shutter, respectively. The second selector means establishes a multiple exposure photographic mode. Also, the second selector means sets up the lens shutter mode irrespective of the setting of the first selector means.
